Something I’d like to share with you is to always take the relationship slow. Back in middle school my friends knew I had a crush on someone, and they pushed me into telling him. We ended up dating but feeling rushed. We broke up, but we’re friends now. In conclusion: go at your own speed, and don’t let others control your actions.

I can only speak from a man’s perspective, but the main thing is, be authentic. The more true you are to yourself & your intentions, the more people will naturally gravitate towards you. People can spot in-congruency, if not immediately, definitely down the line. Do some introspection, if you don’t like who you are, fix that first, & then dating will come naturally

Be authentic & real with people. If you want something, be honest & direct, but obviously use a little social calibration. You don’t want to say something out of line or creepy. Hope this helped!

I was recently told by a social worker that I 'wasn't ready for the dating world'. Heck, I've been out of it for 4 years now, working on myself and wondering when I'll *ever* be ready, but she said I didn't love myself enough. It's only partially true because yes, I'm my own worse critic but I'm much kinder to myself than I have ever been. I don't know what the future holds for me, but next year I'm going to try dipping my toe into the dating pool again. If I fail, I'll know I was never supposed to be coupled and try to be happy with that.
@DraconiInfernalus

the whole love yourself first stuff is crap. dating world is mostly crap too. everyone is worthy of unconditional love. it doesnt´matter in which mental state or place you are at all. you will never be ready for anything while time goes by and so on and on. the only thing you have to learn is dont accept BS and red flags from others only to be with "someone" because you are feeling lonely or bored or whatever. think about why you want to have someone by your side? respect yourself. threat/protect yourself like you would treat your best friend. i´m single for 10 years now and i don´t date at all. bc there are so many i*iots, cheater and player out there. dating...what is dating? you try to force a specific perception within your mind going to a date. it creates pressure from the first moment you throw yourself out there. indirectly screaming loud * i am so deperate and needy of someone who like me*. then you are in a position were people are able to take advantages of you. thats the crazy stuff about dating. so think about... what do you want? what are your rules?what are your no-go´s and must haves from others, from a partner? how do you want to be treated? and if someone doesn´t meet these expectations...you have to say goodbye immediately and looking for the next one and so on and so on until you are lucky and find someone or stay single bc you are worth to be treated like a human and not like a toy, pet or servant

You are probably GOOD ENOUGH, right? Somebody loves you and others will. It's unusual to find someone who is truly unlovable; Trump, Thatcher, Xi Jinping, NRA members, Putin, my parents. I would ask the social worker a Socratic question; What evidence do you have to substantiate your statement? It sounds dysfunctional/unprofessional for a Social Worker to say such a loaded and judgemental thing. Who would choose such a person to offer advice? I think you deserve better. What can possibly go wrong, right??? Your partner is never your therapist, but you can be twisted or "broken" and still give to a respectful and equal relationship, although I would never try it again. Good luck dear soul.

I have had never a date except with my ex who pretty much just used me for her own interests. I am so brutally introverted and traumatized by society that I don't even know where to start, how to get into the proper circles with women of interest to me. Let alone being interesting. During my teenage days I have been told that I have to work hard to achieve something and to be of value to be interesting to women. Let it be by job, money or the likes. My host parents told me that. I really lost hope as I have zero experience with anything and can't even make regular friends it seems.

Great video. The lack of respect is a sure sign of either a dysfunctional relationship or that the partner is toxic/narcissistic. And by " respect", it`s important to see that " self-respect" is a skill. That is the skill to have firm healthy boundarys. Not to rigid, and not to lose. And it is a SKILL. that is we learn it either from functional healthy caretakers, or if we lack that. We need to learn it on our own ( preferably with a therapist) . In it`s basics is about the most important word in the English language that is the word " No". If your date or partner don`t respect your boundarys. That is when you say a firm " No". Then they are highly dysfunctional. A person who lacks this basic respect. Is not a person to have as a intimate partner or as a friend. If you feel that you need to " explain" basic things to them, over and over again. then it`s time to terminate the relationship. In the worst case to go " No contact". What alot of people don`t understand. Is that often it`s not a lack of communication. If the other part simply is toxic. Their agenda is not the same as yours. their agenda is to get attention, and to dominate. And if the HUGE red flag " lack of respect" is there. Then most often it`s never going to work.

To me there is one key problem in dating, I don't know how to meet someone, I'm not a very social person, I have my grouo of friends and I meet only with them, the only place where I'm meeting new people is my unit when new people joins, the only parties I go is with people from my unit and even then I'm more focused on drinking, I hate going out to bar or something, even in my school (in my country you can be soldier while being still in school, even if it's not a military school) I don't know anyone, I don't talk with anyone there, because I don't like anyone there, those people are just annoying, I have completely different values than them, so yeah I don't know how to meet new people who I would like

1:10 this one i can't agree with. First of all, it gives people with any sort of anxious attachment style something to brood over during the first date (fearmongering) instead of enjoying it, and secondly, if i am told by someone they literally think about me all the time, i will take that as a compliment, so it's actually a good thing to be that honest.

Anti-simp strategies: 1) Respect but maintain a professional boundary (don’t get personal) 2) Shut down your own intimacy - seek no intimacy, give no intimacy to the opposite gender 3) Chase the perfect ideal girl (or guy) you know you will never even meet but all in your head - in real life, ignore everyone you feel for. 4) Don't tell what's in your heart - hide it, let it ferment until you feel despair, then overcome that despair 5) Focus on what you want to become. Really, one day you will say, "I have become the man (or person) I wanted to be" 6) Definitely alter who you are - become a sigma, learn from other sigmas. Train hard 7) Don't reveal your secrets, nor your goals and ambitions 8) Be with those who have overcome simping - they have more valuable advice to give and may help you train

I can only tell you how I did it, but maybe this helps. I met my crush only last year and he was very open about his situation and he does not want a relationship right now. We became friends with benefits and share a very intimate bond although we know each other just for a short amount of time. Long story short, I had feelings for him, I told him and he was very sad he could not requite my feelings, because he doesn’t want to hurt me. I feel very sad sometimes, but I am relieved to have this off my chest. And now I know he is worth my love because he wants to help me to find a partner who loves me back ❤

I think it’s worth risking it. Don’t tell him, but ask him where he’s at. Probe for some information somewhat discreetly. Peek behind the kimono that is his love life a little bit.

I have given up tbh, most girls i try dating with always end up flaking and ghosting... even when i let things progress naturally and try not to come on too strong, i try to get to know the other and let them finish their talks... yet somehow this always happens that hey ghost and flake... i really lost hope tbh

Astrology helped me realize the multiple components to a healthy relationship. Not only that but what I would need in a relationship specifically for me to be happy, grow personally and be emotionally connected. I have about 80% of what I wanted the other parts we’re either working on or I’ve accepted that I just won’t have and I’m grateful for what I do have. We been together 3+ yrs, engaged for a month and we have a son due in 5 months. We got pregnant our first try doing IVF

This is great advice for people who are already confident asking others out on a date, and have some experience of dating. For example, "Allow intimacy to progress naturally" is sage advice for seasoned daters, and / or those in the fledgling stages of a relationship, but no use at all to those of us who are still struggling to get dates, or who always get rejected. I'm sure the advice given here benefits some people...but, I'll watch something else, thank you.
