Yes, thank you! They stated at the beginning that there's a myth that girls can't have ADHD, then proceeded to bring only hyperactivity into it. That's part of the reason girls aren't as diagnosed! Because it's more likely for them to be inattentive or express hyperactivity via "being chatty".

I have autism and ADHD, and whenever I talk about how stressed out I feel, all the teachers are just like “do you know how stressful my life is, as a parent?” And even though I know being an adult is really stressful, it still hurts for a teacher to compare their life with yours instead of trying to console and comfort you. Edit: Hey guys, so I made this comment in the middle of 5th grade. It is now summer and once school starts again, I’ll be in 7th grade. I’ve done better and learned how to mature, tysm for all the support through my tough time! Edit 2: Ty all for coming out and supporting me, 700 likes and 28 replies is a lot. I’m a quarter through 7th grade, and I love when people reply and I’m reminded of this comment. I’m pretty sure I am also Autistic. I suffered so much in school. Teachers hated and abused me. I’m glad there is more awareness today, but I hate how now everyone wants to have a disability because it’s trending. If they knew how hard it’s like to live like this… I have had depression since 6 yrs old and to this day have never taken any meds to help and have managed so far without it. My son declined to keep using meds and both are also just dealing with the help of school IEPs. Teachers made fun of my child instead of understanding his condition. And they were cruel to me.

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Thank you for sharing this point!

As a peraon who was diagnosed in 1st grade with adhd I think this is stuff everyone needs to know and I think this is a great video. And I want to share my story. Throughout school and most of the time until 1st grade I had trouble learning.l; I would stress at school and dozens off or zone out during classes, and had trouble understanding anything really. I remember having to stay up with my parents until midnight to work on schoolwork and just struggles anyways. The worst was speed multiplication. We started multiplication quite early and this way of teaching it didn't work for me. We were give an page of 20 multiplication problems and 3 minutes to solve them, you would go through 10 levels of multiplication, one level for each number 1-10. Every time you got it right you would move on to the next number. By the end of the year I got to 6 and everyone else was making fun of me. Up until 1st grade the school tried to tell my parents I was just stupid and had no mental issues despite my parents wanting to get me tested for autism or adhd, since autism is common in my family. The teaches supposedly didn't want me to be tested by their recommendation as apparently they would have had to have paid something to make the school accessible to me like have counseling or something. They changed their mind after 1st grade. I had all F's and was being held inside instead of recess again for 4 weeks in a row. I had piles of homework from all my teachers and my teacher was getting annoyed with me, so I had an impulsive panic and thought ripping up all of my papers would fix the issue. Immediately after I ripped it up I regretted what I did and broke into tears. I then gripped onto the bottom of the table for an hour, and after the principle tried to peel me off, the principle talked me into letting go and heading to the office. They called my parents, told them what happened, then recommended I get tested for adhd and autism. After that I got onto medicine and was an A and B student until high-school in a different school. I recommend that if you feel like you have adhd or autism or any other mental disabilities, to tell your parents and ask to be tested, even if you don't have any disabilities atleadt you know now.

The man who diagnosed me said that AD(H)D is most commonly undiagnosed is girls, He said that it's because girls are naturally multitasking people, while boys are naturally more likely to work on one at a time, so it's more noticeable that they can't pay attention, For example; you might notice that a boy is picking up different hobbys, then dropping the last one, But if you saw a girl with multiple hobbys, you might just think they have more than one, I personally, have noticed that things I do in every-day life are influenced *by my ADHD!* For example; watching videos. I've noticed now that I tend to get bored very easily, so I jump from video to video rapidly, Some manage to hold my attention because they are like storys, story's manage to hold onto my attention because they give me tidbits *constantly* So I always have something to think about that is close enough to the plot that I don't get lost in thought, Audiobooks are almost as good as reading it itself, I prefer holding the book in my hands, but listening is fine, I also noticed that I'm much more picky with the kinds of games or books I like to read, with games; I've found that I'm not interested in fighting games, more specifically the one where all you do is fight, as long as there is an immersive story I like it, With books; they have to have an interesting description/cover/title, otherwise I'm not really keen on reading it. I've also seen that I'm not that big of a fan of slice-of-life or other genres like that, I'm much more of a fantasy person. Any way, I've probably rattled off too long, hope this helps!

Wow its really cool to read about another person like me. I have ADHD but I did not get diagnosed until I was 23 and in graduate school. I have always been really smart and gotten good grades but I had to try super hard to be there. I also had an uphill battle when it came to getting diagnosed because people would ask how i wasn't diagnosed yet. The answer is honestly I grew up in low income neighborhoods so my mom had to HOUND the schools to get me tested for dyslexia while I showed signs of it in all my classes so anything else was out of the question. But on top of that I was home schooled from 3rd grade until college. When I finally got to see a psychiatrist for my ADHD she took one look at me and called me the poster child for ADHD. But between that time I learned so many coping skills including focusing on stories. I love reading though I find it had to sit still so I find a incredible story and focus on that though they are few and far between. I love video games but the story has to be solid or I am just not into it. When I go to bed 90% of the time my mind is racing so I have to make up a story to relax it and let me sleep. I have also found music useful to drown out the distractions but again I have to be picky.

this video is really giving back how much I had struggled with when my ADHD was really bad when I was a child, but after a lot of treatment and training I got to control it a bit better now. sometimes it's worst than other days and a lot of people back then when I was just starting going to school didn't understood it, neigther did the teachers. they would only mock me or scream at me when I wouldn't listen oder couldn't anser questions that I did not understood. so I love to see that people can learn more about ADHD if they don't know what that is and what it dose to someone

My first grade teacher was a really bad person, she even got fired some years later. Since my parents helped me with reading and writing before I entered school, it was spare time for me. I just did what I wanted to, finished the activities quickly and play some more. She yelled at me because "I wasn't paying attention", even if I already finished the activities. I couldn't even ask a classmate for a eraser because she'd say that I'm distracting them. I had to learn how to lie and hide my "blue notebook" (The blue notebook was a notebook for the teachers to communicate with the parents. They'd write down any excellent or bad behavior.) because she'd write that I don't do anything. She damaged my self-esteem badly ;-;

But sometimes when people self diagnose, it's a cry out for help saying "I think something may be wrong with my brain chemistry". And a certain mental disorder may fit the bill to them, like ADHD, Dyslexia or Autism Spectrum Disorders. They're usually young people, and are probably too afraid to tell their parents because they've been shut down by them or ignored and neglected by them. Quite possibly they have these disorders, but no one wants to believe them, because it's easy to believe that the way someone acts is just their personality or upbringing rather than a mental disorder. No one in my family wants to believe I have anything but Depression and Anxiety, but Dyslexia, OCD, ADHD, Torettes, it all runs in the family. Self diagnosis is sometimes the first step for adults with undiagnosed mental disorders who have struggled all through school under the radar.

Idk who needs this, but here: I've struggled with ADHD my whole life, and reading books is hard for me. I was put in special reading classes and stuff to "fix me." For years, I just thought I was stupid because I couldn't focus on reading. Then, I found a book series called "Warriors" by Erin Hunter. The books are very immersive and engaging, and I can *really* focus on the story. Since I found the series, it's all I've read. I went from being in special reading classes to being in Advanced English because of the books. I *really* recommend them, and if Warriors isn't your thing, Erin Hunter has many other series' that might peak your interest.

It really triggers me when people self diagnose themselves with ADHD. I was diagnosed really young, and all these middle schoolers are just saying it to reason with their bad grades, or to sound cool or "edgy"
@soso37925 жыл бұрын
My diagnosis was put off until I was 16 (aka this year) because my parents dismissed my inattentivity, forgetfulness, disorganisation, lack of motivation and tons of other shit as mere “behavioural problems”. I also thought they were just that and thought my 2 minute attention span and EXTREMELY bad short term memory were normal. Then when I looked up the term ADHD randomly when I was 15, I realised that my struggles matched ALL the symptoms on the inattentive list, and a big part of the hyperactive/impulsive list. So I begged my parents to let me see a psychiatrist, and when they didn’t listen I visited a counsellor. I got my official diagnosis this January and turns out, yes, I do in fact have ADHD. I have literally heard people going “oh I have ADHD because one time I spaced out during a boring lecture but because it’s just one time so it’s probably mild” like bitch no wtf. I’ve been struggling with it severely for all 10 years of my school life and you say shit like this?? Not cool
@delidelimotzereli31865 жыл бұрын
Kombat Kitty Honestly the only reason I say I have ADD without a proper diagnosis is because my mom, dad, and brother have it and I express pretty much all of the symptoms except a few of the hyperactivity ones. I never actually knew how ADD really impacted me until I dug deep into some research and found out what it actually was. My mom just said it was a different way of thinking and never went into all the negatives of it so until recently I had no idea why certain social aspects of myself seemed so different compared to everybody else or why it was so hard to just do some of my work. I didn’t really know how people with ADD often take things harder or in a different way than others. It led to me feeling kind of alien in a way, but, hey. At least I know more about it now. My parents both believe me to have it so maybe it’s not really a self diagnoses? Everybody else was diagnosed and they didn’t take me because they didn’t think I needed meds because I could kind of contain my grades in the “decent” area.

I know a girl with ADHD. She's a lot of fun to hang out with, she always has something she wants to do with me, I'm never bored when she's around and since I'm a massive introvert it's fun to have someone to follow around for a change. I wouldn't say she doesn't eat much but she eats a lot of junk food, I tried explaining to her what would happen to her if she kept eating like that but she doesn't seem to care much about the future. Also, her room is a real mess. Imagine any teenage girl's room and multiply it by 5, it's that bad. Other than that I find her to be really smart and creative, she loves signing, in fact she's always signing something when she's not talking to someone.

Cant people with ADHD be introverts? Or lazy? Just asking, because I am both and I might have ADHD and not sure yet if I should test it And also my room isnt messy, but thats probably because of my lazyness, I never make it messy, but I also never clean up my mess if I make one, idk
@megaboy28115 жыл бұрын
@Tara H I wouldnt say ocd, but I am a BIG perfectionist. But I am lazy and have a lot of concentration problems, all of that doesnt fit together at all, I know. I am not messy in my room, but for example I am not organized at all. I often forget where I put something etc. But because of my lazyness I am not doing that much, so I only rarely even create a mess :D But with things I like, I am interested in etc. thats the part where I am a perfectionist. While playing games keyboard has to be in an exact position, when sitting it takes me an eternity to get the chair in the right position, when creating levels in certain games (I really like creating levels) I am only satisfied with the result if everything is structured. But because of my lazyness and concentration problems I NEVER managed to finish a level lol But back to my main question: Does a diagnosis help? Would it help me to know if I have ADHD? Does the medication help (my concentration problems make school really hard for me)?
@megaboy28115 жыл бұрын
@Tara H Thanks for your answer. I guess, if I get tested and maybe diagnosed with ADHD, the doctor would probably know what I can do to deal with my problems (even if I dont have it), so I guess diagnosis would help more, than just having the answer if I have it, right?

Here’s some do’s and dont’s for any teacher with a student(s) who have adhd (1) Don’t tell them to sit still, as most people with adhd are constantly moving. (2) be very patient. If your not, it will be hard for you to teach the student, and for the student to learn. (3) don’t put stress on the student. Stress can cause a child with adhd to react with very large emotions, and very quickly. (4) Even if it seems impossible to teach a child with adhd at times, never ever give up on them. It will only make it worse. I’m not a teacher, but i did experience this stuff when i was in 1st grade.
