Whenever i’m in school or talking to someone about something i’m not really interested in or don’t care about, i tend to zone out or be distracted by something else. But if I am working or talking about something i’m interested in I tend to listen very closely. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

I don’t know if this is a sign but in the last couple days, I’ve been shaking. I feel like legs or my hands just shaking at random times of the day. And I don’t mean like seizure shaking but I mean like shaking rapidly. 3. Hyperfocus: I always focus on other things when I’m trying to focus on one or sometimes it’s a good thing because I can focus on one thing at all. An example is I was hyperfocusing on this video. I forgot everything around me and focused completely. However, when I’m in class or doing homework, I just focus on fidgeting and stuff like that. 4. Excessive talking: I always talk. When I’m playing, I talk to myself. When I’m changing, I talk to myself. When I’m in class, I talk to other people. When I’m with my friends, I over talk. When I’m doing homework, I talk to myself. It’s been a habit for a few years already and it’s starting to get really annoying because I can’t go a day without over talking or talking to myself and I feel so weird when people are like “who are you talking to?” when for some reason I can’t control it. 5. Interrupting conversations: I don’t do this a lot but I do it sometimes. When my friends are talking, I’m just very desperate to talk. This also happens in class, I sometimes talk to my friends when the teacher is talking and it seems quite disrespectful but I don’t even know why I do it. 6. Being unable to wait for their turn: I do this sometimes. I also mentioned this in 5, I’m always desperate to talk or do something. Whether it’s being in a line or having conversations. 7. Constantly fidgeting: I do this quite a lot. I did mention this in 3, I always fidget in class or doing homework when I try and focus. It’s been a habit for a while and that’s why I always seem to break my things. I feel bad about it… 8. Daydreaming: Yup, I do this a lot and that’s why I barely get class work done. I always zone out or daydream in class and my classmates always have to wake me up to reality like almost every week. 9. Risk-taking behaviour: Yup, I do this. I nearly blinded my eyes taking a risk once. (I put a flashlight like 1cm close to my eyes). I also like always fall, and it’s a habit. Whether I’m in the school or I’m outside. 10. Forgetfulness: I ALWAYS forget things. It’s so common for me, every single time someone tells me to remember something or do something, it just vanishes from my mind. Poof! 11. Problem listening: Yup, I always don’t listen. Whether it’s my teacher giving an instruction or it’s someone telling me, my hearing either hears gibberish or just doesn’t hear anything. 12. Hyperactivity: I’m super hyper. I’m home and at school, I always seem “crazy” and do very hyper things or just seem like a psycho. That’s why I’m the weird kid. These have been affecting my life a lot and I want anyone to tell me if I have ADHD.

Yes ADHD is 'relatable' to most people, because most of the symptoms are things we all may experience from time to time. It is a disorder when it is disrupting your life.

I’m thankfully getting a diagnosis in October, but when I was young people would write me off as chatty/hyperactive and I’d get in trouble a lot, but no one ever mentioned anything. My mom gaslit me about it, first saying I might have it, then saying I didn’t, then mentioning I had it and when I told her she said I didn’t have it, she said “it’s just not as bad as yor brothers, I never said that.) just recently out of my 17 years figured out BOTH of my brothers have it INCLUDING my mom (and my dad shows a lot of symptoms but never bothered to get tested). Thankfully they finally listened after me pestering for over 5 years, and my therapist and counselors advocating for me. I hope all goes well for you though!

Im constantly being called lazy and half arsed because i dont have the motivation to do things. I have a lot of trouble focusing and keeping my mind on one task. I forget very easily, and I usually get a bit of a lecture about it. “Just remember then.” “Stop fidgeting.” “Pay attention.” “Stop doing that.” “Are you ignoring me?” Its getting really difficult right now, and i dont know what to do. Im always worried what others think about me, and sometimes i even make up lies to seem like a cooler, better person. Its so stressful, its really interfearing with my education. But my parents arent really big believers in disabilities, and think the whole spectrum thing is bullshit. And i get annoyed by the smallest things, like one minute im happy, i then get annoyed and angry by the smallest thing, and then im sad because i feel bad, although i did nothing wrong? No need to apologize ! Thank you for sharing your feelings :) I think I have similar situations where I feel little to no motivation at all to do tasks (even eating healthily seems often difficult). Recently I noticed how I could go from satisfied or content to disappointed and ashamed in the same day while socializing. And I can't stop thinking about what I did wrong in the day and reminscing old memories where I found myself unattractive or hateful. I can't get peace in my mind when I don't do something or I can't focus on a simple thing because I suddenly feel the need to review these old memories again when... I'm not supposed to? It's confusing and I can't totally move on from my mistakes and actions from before. I thought facing them but how? Do other normal people do that? At this point I think therapy is needed because I need clear answers about my behaviour and unhealthy state of mind. And sorry for my mistakes I haven't wrote in english in a long time lol

Alright, so here's how my day has went so far: 1. Stay awake for at least 12 hours before even thinking about actually being productive 2. Randomly decide you want to learn the ENTIRE dragon language from the video game Skyrim, and spend about an hour learning proper pronunciation but specifically the direct translation of words from that language into your own 3. Attempt to start virtual work for high school, and promptly forget it and watch KZbin 4. Remember dragon language, become fascinated in it again 5. Back to KZbin spontaneously, watch a bunch of Shorts, then find this video Edit: I will be on medication soon for potentially ADD. More testing needs to be done, and don't be fooled, this process is tedious and long. To be diagnosed to the point where something is done, they have to figure out and map your full psyche, and do testing with medication and so on. Many, many steps are required for anything of value to be done. Edit 2: I have ADD. I am currently on Adderall, but it's at such a high dosage that I'd die of exhaustion or starvation from its side effects, but other than that it makes me relatively normal (assuming normal is almost superhuman when those aspects of my brain are unhindered). Also, all that bullshit about "mapping your psyche" is completely wrong, I just assumed that because of the articles I read and my ignorance of the actual process, they did a lot more than they actually ended up doing. In reality, they just did some screenings for symptoms of ADD/ADHD and then trial-and-errored until the desired effects were achieved (still an ongoing process but this one works as a tool).

Or just not being able to clean my room efficiently, weather it’s only a little dirty or more severe. Again, this video actually helped me learn about more of my symptoms so thank you for making this video!

You are more than your academic level, which is also probably really good. My parents would whip me harshly for getting bad grades but I couldn’t focus because of bullying, lack of sleep and being hungry. Those factors had a party with my ADHD almost everyday at school. Me and my sister have adhd and asd, and I hear this all the time. Especially since my sister is 3 years younger than me, and is therefore a teenager. The people that's supposed to be professionals, and have to help her (because she's a "child"), keeps going on and on about routine and planning, even though they know her brain doesn't work like that. Adhd and asd is a wierd combo, and in our way, routine doesn't help. They don't understand how a routine can also be flexible and isn't necessarily only one way, and they are the ones who are supposed to know this. It confuses me so much, like just let us be in peace without having to hear routine, routine and routine on repeat. Sorry for the little rant if anyone reads this😅 Also sorry for my english and grammar, I'm not a native speaker 😊

I still haven’t sought out a professional, but I’m still concerned of having ADHD… This kind of videos really helped me to realise things about myself. Being someone who grew up in a very tense, religious family environment where I’m expected to feel fine most of the time, it was hard to see that, at the end, I have my own personal issues that I need to take into account.
@katelynbaez14003 жыл бұрын
I’m going through something so similar. I’m 21 and I just recently spoke to my doctor and I’m actually getting the help I need. This is so nice to see someone I can relate to. My family is EXTREMELY conservative and it’s just expected that the Bible would solve all your issues, and it can solve a lot of them, but it can’t fix a problem that is wired into your brain. My brother recently was diagnosed with Anxiety and has therapy, but before that my mom treated mental health like it didn’t exist, and now she is acting strange..She treats my brother way better than everyone else not noticing me and my personal struggles but only his. I have to admit I am very jealous of the attention he is getting, and a counselor for him to vent to, sounds nice. Any who guess I’ll just continue being, “Fine”

I hate it when neurotypical people say to neurodivirgent people, "just make a planner and lists to get more organised" BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK. Here's some advise from a neurodivirgent person: people with ADHD, try not taking your shoes off when you get home to stay in the flow of things, and maybe then you might actually do the dishes.
@lemon9673 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU OMG legit my parents are like, "write down your thoughts :DD" "Use a planner it will help" NO no it doesn't help because it feels like an extra unnecessary task i have to accomplish when instead i could sit here and look at my ceiling in a state of emotion turmoil. Writing in a journal or keeping a diary are to long term for them to be able to help me, it has to be one step at a time and i hate that people cant seem to understand that.

My high school kept constantly contacting my dad throughout the years saying “you need to get your daughter tested we can see she’s struggling” and he kept getting angry at them each time saying “ no she hasn’t I’m not getting her tested” now I’m struggling so much to function properly as an adult, if I’d of gotten the help I needed as a child I would’ve probably been able to finish school and not fail, and obviously if you fail school you most likely will end up with a standard minimum wage job, idk I feel like it ruined me a little
@eval44953 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. In my case, I'm kind of grateful I wasn't diagnosed at an early age because a lot of people would have doubted my ability to finish school. When I got diagnosed for a learning disability in college, a college counselor for people with disabilities didn't think I could complete a degree I wanted to pursue so I ended up taking something else. After I got diagnosed with ADHD my mom didn't think I could have a regular job. She wanted me to look for a job best suited for ADHD people. Personally, that made me feel worse because I know I am pretty capable. I've even been evaluated on my skills at a center. I did pretty good. It's just hard sometimes. But I can also see how it can be bad to be diagnosed with ADHD so late. I mean, I was in my 30s when it happened. I didn't get the help I needed too but I also think of all the medication I would've taken.

I’m not allowed to have a therapist so I’ve been seeing my school therapist without my parents knowledge. I watch these videos for educational purposes because I know people that have things like BPD and ADD/ADHD and so forth, so I like to learn about them so I don’t step out of line with them, but this is something I am most concerned about for me. My whole life I’ve been told to “pay attention”, “stop spacing out”, “quit fidgeting”, “do one thing at a time”, “how is your room already a mess”, “why are these assignments not done yet” it just goes on an on and I been like that since I can remember. I’ve tried saying it’s not my fault, because I didn’t know why all this was happening, I’ve lost a lot of friends because they think I’m selfish or that I don’t pay attention to or care about them and it just makes it worse. I had to rewatch parts of this video because I kept spacing of to something else or forgetting what the narrator was talking about there’s so many things that I can’t even explain and it feels like everything is just crumbling away right below till I fall and I don’t get back up.. because of this everyone is always mad at me and constantly asking me what I think I want and need and I don’t know. I just don’t know

I am diagnosed with ADHD and I can say it is a personal hell. Your mind races so fast some of your thoughts will even shock you. You get pointed out for doing things like talking fast or tapping your foot or for me ( making weird noises with your mouth) it makes me super self conscious and brings down my self esteem sometimes… I feel like I have to try so much harder to do things some people have no problem doing simply because I CANT FOCUS AT ALL. I start doing one thing and I end up starting like 4 other things in my process. There has definitely been times I’ve broken down and cried and hated myself but.. I try and look at the positives, I can multitask really well because I can’t focus on one thing at a time so multiple things actually (ironically) makes it easier. I feel like I’m getting that “flow” some people are able to easily get. I’ve taken medication and it helps but it can cause you to become dependent because it helps so much if you don’t take it or if you lose it you start to notice your ADHD tendencies A LOT more. It makes you feel dumb but hey I’m here to tell you, you aren’t alone. There are others out there struggling in silence. Some don’t even know they have it but we can support eachother and try and understand eachother and we can do this. Keep going no matter what.

This story is kinda long so my bad 🤷♀️ As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD I was crying watching this video because I only saw the video as of how different I am from normal people. when I was a kid in elementary school I was never able to make friends as easily as other people because of my ADHD (ADHD can affect everyone differently this is just how it was for me). I always struggled with socializing with other people I would struggle to talk them and Learn more about them. So as a kid I only grew up with 2 friends at most at a time and even after time those friends left me because they couldn’t understand (They told me that they didn’t think I cared because I talked so much about other things). So not only did I lose the only friends I ever had I also had bad grades and wasn’t musically or athletically talent either. I went Into a small depression after awhile. I started to hate myself so much, I though I was complete garbage and a waste of air. So after a while (yes a whole year and a half of being alone) I finally worked up the courage to find new friends that I could hangout with and thank God I found 2 new friends, but then the pandemic hit. But still I tried to stay friends with these people because I didn’t want to be alone. So when the school year started again I would have friends to hangout with and not be alone. Now it’s been 4 years and I still have the same 2 friends I made before the pandemic they understand me and I couldn’t be more grateful. Sometimes there just needs to be bad before there’s good.

@1Casey Lopez i don't know if i have adhd but... i agree with the comment up, I'm still struggling with socializing and befriending people, my focusing is really bad still... i got alot of bad grades and got my mother disappointed in me, always have the "i will finish this task first" but end up either forgetting it or do another tasks, I'm always forgetful people complain about how bad i am at doing anything even myself, i struggle with this alot since i was a kid and still..

This hit close to home. I'm a highschool student as of now and I was diagnosed with ADHD at 5 years old (which is amazing fact considered I'm a female). I have always struggled with staying interested in school and tend to get in trouble for skipping ahead on my work. I also had bad grades last year and the year before because I hated wasting my time on homework when I could draw, practice playing trumpet or watch anime. It got to the point where I'd get all of the things for my hobbies taken away until I did my work. But thankfully in highschool grades are weighted and homework only counts for 5% of my grade.

I definitely need to get tested because this is exactly how my life went like Word for Word it’s crazy. It was so hard for me it’s still really hard I’m so sorry you had to go through these struggles

Me and my therapist both self diagnosed ourselves 😅😂 I think she went on to get an official diagnosis, but her support means so much to me.

The problem is someone who doesn't have ADHD can look at these symptoms and come to the conclusion that they have it where they only show mild symptoms or "normal" behaviour. For example I see myself in a lot of these, especially disorganisation, impulsivity and unmotivated but I don't believe I have ADHD (although I've never been checked and because I did well in school and a have never been hyperactive I never will) It's important to understand that showing signs is not the same as having a mental/behavioural disability (or however its classed) and you should never self diagnose anything

Thank you, that's exactly what I thought, just that I don't wanna be disrespectful to who has adhd so I just try not to think that I have, im weird i know

“Self diagnosing” means nothing for MOST NORMAL PEOPLE that aren’t buying illegal drugs. You still have to go through a battery of tests and professional help to diagnose and treat. Acknowledging and being honest with health care professionals is a GOOD THING.

add exists, and you don't need to do poorly at school to have add/adhd

I have ADHD and have always done extremely well in school and I do experience almost all of the symptoms explained in the video. I also have never been hyperactive because hyperactivity is one of the three types of ADHD. There’s hyperactive, inattentive, and a combination of the two. The type I have is inattentive, it’s a lot harder to diagnose and is more presented in the female sex (which I am). A lot of people who have inattentive type ADHD, don’t get diagnosed until they’ve reached adulthood (especially when they do well in school) because it’s not nearly as visible compared to hyperactivity. The only reason I got diagnosed so early on is because I recognized some of those symptoms and out of curiosity I asked my parents if I could get a diagnosis just to be sure. Turns out I did! I got prescribed a medication and take it every morning before I go to school, it’s helped so much and has made life easier for the better. Hope this reply helps you! :)

After I got together with my boyfriend and we lived together for over a year, I started to think he might have ADHD. I researched it more and more than wondered how no one ever realized throughout his life he might have ADHD. He soon saw a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with ADHD. I’m so happy for him now that he feels seen and heard and finally has a reasoning for his actions and why “he’s not like others” (his words, not mine).

oh thank god! this is right on time, i’m really starting to think i have it! BUT PLS DO NOT SELF DIAGNOSE EVERYONE 🚨🚨🚨

Yep I hate self diagnosing but as a person with ADHD no cap it really sucks and it’s really not something cool to show off
@Mia-rt8ip3 жыл бұрын
hmm I think self diagnosing is okay as long as the person does thorough research, looks at trustworthy studies and articles done by professionals, and eventually seek help if they have it.

I'd say dont be 100% sure you have something even if you're pretty sure you do its just something to keep in mind

If you get professional help, they'll tell you what you need to do. I've been on medication for a few years after getting diagnosed, and it has helped me so much!

i relate to most of these symptoms, and the possibility of me having adhd has been in my mind for the past 6 months tbh however i believe im just overlooking things or being dramatic, since this could just be me and my normal everyday behavior): thank you very much for making such informative vid tho, it’s very appreciated !

I mean, it may help to consider that ADHD isn't something separate from your everyday life. If these fit your everyday behavior, it only increases the likelihood of ADHD. Everyone may experience some of these symptoms sometime in their lives, but when it occurs on a regular basis at an extreme, that's when we consider it to be ADHD.

I feel the same way, I’ve been thinking about the symptoms I might be showing and all I can think of is ADHD . I Need to probably get it checked out but am scared I might not have and that’s just who I am

I have adhd, and I know if I try and talk with my mother about it, she’ll say” oh you don’t have adhd it’s just something you saw on the internet you’re so addicted to your phone” and I know this because I tried talking to her about me being stressed all the time, I wish I could just talk her about it but I know she won’t help me through it because she won’t believe me, I still love her though. This is why I love channels like this, they teach me about disorders etc as a young student.

Also, stimulants like caffeine actually calm you down when you have ADHD and things that make other people sleepy like a sleeping aid can make you hyper.

I always drink monster energy before pe cuz it makes me happy and active. I don't tire out so fast, and can let all my energy out. A con is that sometimes I'm TOO energetic. I scream, jump around and kinda anoy my classmates. But I only relize that after pe when I'm home and thinking "Well that was fucking dumb"
