Man of their albums are like that. It's honestly incredible how natural it feels but at the same time, each song has it's own style. Dark Side 73, Wish you were Here 75 , The Wall 79 (maybe considered over rated but still tied for my favorite), Animals 77, all albums of the golden age of Pink Floyd. Another amazing one being The Final Cut 83 (there are 2 types of people on the planet, those who don't care for it, and those who love it). Even Roger's solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking 84 carries on the continuous property. They really are the pinnacle of concept albums. Other people may be rated higher by the general population, but those familiar with the work on Pink Floyd know they are the kings on concept albums. Despite that many are still confused as to which one is Pink.

I remember the first time I heard this album. I guess I was around 18. Probably around 1976. I went to a buddy's house and usually I'd knock and tell them to tell Fred I was here. This time they let me in and said Fred was the basement. I had never been in their basement. I went downstairs and he was smoking some herb. I was shocked he smoked herb in the house. Even in the basement with everyone there. So we sat down there smoking and he pulls out this album. Looked strange. I had heard of Pink Floyd but not this album. I turned it over and here is a man on fire shaking another man's hand. I was like, what the hell is this? He put that album on and I was blown away. I had never heard it. I'll always remember that day.

One of the best guitar solo ever, not only that but this song has a funk to it, much like fame by David bowie, but much darker. Some of these songs that were release decades ago were so far ahead of their time, it's a masterpiece. I don't know if that's a synthesizer or what that makes the "waaa wa waaa waaaaaa" but it's sick. The entire song is layered perfectly with the light abs dark tones of the song, the different instruments and the funk type bass line mixed with the classic rock sound, it's perfect, then Roger waters of course his voice and tone/ pitch in different parts of the song set the mood perfectly. I only wish someone could make music this good today. Unfortunately we live in a mass produced, dumbed down, cheap Era of music where people accept crap for music and don't have the attention span or appreciation for things like this

One of those albums you decide to purchase because you like one song (this one) and amazed at the whole album when you take it home to listen. Honestly, I purchased this album before Dark Side...go figure

The exquisite bass playing by Roger is overshadowed in many PF tunes by other lead type instruments. One needs a good ear to pick up on it.
