I would say it’s more nuanced and impactful. She’s made a full character arc and is making a conscious decision that she couldn’t back in season 1. She had to fight against her own instincts and nature to do what she thought was right. Kougami was more pursuing his own vengeance above all else. In a way I’d argue she truly embodied what it means to make a true decision in life.
@johans98667 ай бұрын
It's more about personal justice (kougami) and societal justice (sibyl). The system determines highest happiness for most of the people. It does not consider each individual circumstances. Which is flawed. Anime shows examples of this flaw throughout the series. In season 3 Kanizuka carry out interviews asking each character what justice means for them. Everyone has different answers. Kougami was indeed taking his revenge, but makishima was the actual criminal. But system decided it's fine. Similarly how system decided that bullying one guy is fine if it's reduces stress for more people and only victim suffers. That was unfair and unjust for that individual.
@28Decimo7 ай бұрын
@@johans9866 the system never ruled on bullying the individual, it was simply apathetic. The system they used at that facility was created by the people there in order to keep their hues low and take out frustrations due to lack of recreation. You could argue with personal justice however Kogami was obsessed with it and ended it by simply putting in Shogo’s head. Kogami wasn’t thinking about society or right or wrong when he shot Shogo, which is pointed out in Sinners of the system and other pieces of the story.

Akane's cry at the end surprised me. At first it was ugly (in a sort of "where is your pride? thing), but asI came to understand it it felt heart-wrenching and more and more like a show of strength (in human character) rather than weakness. This is especially important in cyberpunk settings since questioning the concept of humanity itself is a core theme. As a side note I'd also argue it shows she isn't criminally asymptomatic, as despite it being her plan she still has to face the reality of potentially rotting in jail forever and having lost all the career achievements her life's work had attained. Most stories have the protagonist so full of stoically righteous conviction that such a display of a tender quality was unexpected, but in hindsight it makes Akane's character much better for it. It makes her feel more human, more relatable to the average person who may also hold righteous ideals. And its worth noting that in no way does Akane lack in righteous conviction. It also ties neatly with Kogami's therapy advice (lmao) earlier in the movie as well.
@ShimizuSolace2 ай бұрын
Just finished the film earlier and honestly, there were a lot of fluff and "show, don't tell" like in Psycho-Pass 3, but it made this ending worth it. The whole point of the movie is to bridge Sinners of the System 3 and Psycho-Pass 3 and show the reason Akane went on to do time, which they did fine to a degree. The plot itself is fairly simple and straightforward; in a world governed and judged by Sibyl and AI, does traditional law matter? Akane decided to play along and let Shingo and Yabuki's misdeeds be swept under the rug, but in a straight gigachad move, she defiantly exposes the flaws of Sibyl by being unable to be judged in that moment, and in return, preserves traditional criminal law due to that. A beautiful and powerful yet somber ending, arguably one of the best scenes of the series as a whole.

Some of people wrote that the crime points didint increase bec she was a cyborg but Im really dont think that its so important. I think its more about what sybil thinks about crimes. What is a threat for sybil and what is a problem. Sybil dont fear problems. Its just fears about threats. And akane dont a threat for sybil, sybil knows that akane show respect to him. Akane just shows a BIG problem to sybil. If people agree with you about everything, first people lost their value, and after you Gonna lose your value. So its not a threat, its just a hard challenge. Because of that sybil didint saw this as a "crime".

It was a challenge to Sybil system. She shot the chief on tv with a clear hue. This would make people question the validation of the Sybil system when someone who committed a crime would be viewed as a good citizen. People didn't know the chief wasn't human so Sybil didn't view her as criminal.
@gregorysaugustine5236 Жыл бұрын
She needs to show that some people can commit crime openly without having their crime coefficient raised up. In the previous two seasons, the villain's crime coefficient is classified along with the fact of their existence. By committing crime so openly, the Sibyl system can no longer hide the fact and thus preserving the judicial system that's about to be abolished.

@Nexcersis I personally think it doesn't mater that she shot someone who is technical not a person, as due to akanes sense of justice and mental stability even if they were a real person the system would still see them is a proper hue. This also adds more to the flaws of the system and proves them better. Also keep in mind the system is still technically human in some way as it thinks like us. Akane definitely see the system as more than simple ai so her taking its life there is a chance her hue would change. She takes this risk for the greater good. Other wise what you said is fully correct.
