1) Sufficient daily movement (be less sedentary). 2) Leave fear behind (lean into it to hear its message). 3). Silence your inner critic (by developing self-compassion). 4). Change your mindset (find your WHY for why you do things). 5). Improve your relationships (relationships ARE the point). 6). Practice self-compassion daily.

I love the dance forms of exercise. I did Jazzercize for 12 years and recently 10 years of Zumba. During the pandemic I have found online programs to keep me sane. I’m 75 and find that music and dancing, even by myself, keeps me healthy both mentally and physically. Thank you validating the fun and therapeutic aspect of exercising in a way that suits the individual.

Vitamin D deficiency causes depression. Movement for many people means getting outside. I used to use exercise to burn off adrenaline from frustration. Exercise helps me learn. Even lifting dumpbells or rowing for 10 minutes can be enough. For me, part of the benefit of exercise is burning off excess blood sugar and improved lymphatic and blood circulation (even a shower helps).

"Behind the wall of fear is so much life." As one yt-er said in her video. So true. Thanks so much for sharing this...it inspires very much...btw ...in the word "inspire" you'll find spire from spirit. My body or ship as I see it can feel heavy, depressed and tired. The captain (the inside observer) never is. This helps me to realise "it's mind over matter". Not as easy as it might sound. But it's possible.

I’m disabled and losing my mobility… I hate that this is the one thing I can’t control! I fast … don’t eat sugar, refined carbs , no evil oils … it’s painful when I can’t do much about this.

What is your disability? Çan you use your hands? Some ppl play basket ball, race in wheelchairs. Just move arms to dance. Lift weights. Travel to different places. Exercise your mind.

It us painful, very. I do my best and it does help. I have had to pick my activity wisely, but i do feel a lot more confident and the pain has noticeably gone down by I'd say 20 - 40 percent depending on the day. Its easier now i have a plan which does seem to be working. I did have to take a big step backwards with what i could do, and start again from there. Good luck. It is worth it.

I love your podcasts & how you conduct them with passion & engagement. It’s a conversation & your input is valuable & relevant. When those small number of people say “the host talks too much” (and BTW I see similar comments on many podcasts) that’s their opinion which of course they’re quite entitled to. Feedback can be helpful but it’s easy to start questioning or doubting yourself so maybe just think “Thanks for sharing”. This compilation is excellent, so interesting & informative. As a Kinesiology major, certified personal trainer, and holistic nutritionist, and Yoga teacher i love to instill these things to help people feel better now! Love this! One must have the courage to try and to commit to at least 15 minutes 3 x week. Or even 2 x and you will want more. Depression causes one to have anxiety and fear to even start or change.

I related to the movement bit so much & it's often something I've thought about. I HATED competitive sports at school. I was good at most of them, but you made one mistake and coaches shouted at you and destroyed any confidence you had. They made you go in after school, on Saturdays, travel hundreds of miles on a horrible coach to compete in something you didn't care about. But when I was with my school buddies, we played football (soccer) for hours & hours. Before school, during school, after school. No coaches, no referee's but just jumpers for goal posts. Easiest way I see to get kids that isn't to over think how we can make inclusive classes (although that's important). It's just to leave them alone. Free play. Too much is organized now.

Yes, a shame with all these "suits" still same same as 2-300 years ago & more?? Never really understood what that was about? Is it just so you look the same as all the other bank/office people? Or to be more invisible, than they already are. Simply don't get it & btw never had a suit in my life. Very interesting/cool interview bro TY

Buy a height adjustable (electric) desk, and then switch between standing and sitting. When you’re standing make sure you’re not static and move your body from time to time by jumping, stretching a bit, etc. You can even pretent you’re walking behind your desk, so a treadmill is unnecessary.
