I'm so glad Raz can move during most of these attacks now. I ended up hardly using the other powers in P1 during fights just because by the time I got it ready someone was already up in my business.

Telekinesis and Pyrokinesis were only useful if the enemy was distracted or not attacking you. And even then, Pyrokinesis only because really useful once you upgrade it so it sets multiple targets on fire. Clairvoyance, however, was just plain underutilized. Like, I remember one puzzle that had you use a crow feather to see through the crow's eyes to solve a button puzzle. That was essentially the only time it was used and the only time you used Clairvoyance on an item to see through the eyes of an NPC. PSI Blast, while cool, is mostly used for faraway enemies or hitting targets. But has some use once it gains the ability to bounce between targets. And I remember Levitation getting an upgrade where it gets spikes when you move, so you can damage enemies while you roll past them. Overall, the abilities were interesting, but why bother when a three hit combo is usually enough to deal with most enemies?

@@SaiyanGamer95 on the same level with the crow puzzle, theres also a section where you have to use clairvoyance on the cameras to see in the dark room to find the plunger. But other than that, the power wasnt utilized much.

If you were a certain level, levitation gets upgraded to a wrecking Ball. I ended up accidentally defeating enemies when trying to avoid combat. It also very useful when fighting the wrestler bosses. But yeah that doesn't happen till the sixth world if you've been collecting the cards and figments. But I agree, I enjoy the movement these new abilities give. It gives more control on how you approach a fight

One of my favourite features in both games (cuz it's not really applicablemkn RoR) is using Clairvoyance on all the NPCs to see how they see you. I love how they put in the effort to really show the depths of the character's JUST through that little detail. When you get your Archetype, use Clairvoyance on him to see how he sees you! It's really cute!

This along with Rift Apart and Resident Evil Village are going to be my games I enjoy for this year along with the upcoming No More Heroes 3 and Metroid Dread, As for Rift Apart I don't have a PS5 to play it but I'm happy with having the game as a collection.

Yeah I'll admit that confusion grenade and invisibility won't really be missed, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for shield. That said, if you were doing a cheat run, confusion grenade had interesting and often hilarious hidden dialogue as well. So there's that.

Time Bubble and Archetype are very interesting choices for psychic abilities since the ones in the first game tented to be a bit more standard and grounded to what one associates with psychics, like projections and in the case of the ill-used confusion bomb, illusions. These seem more abstracted in comparison and tuned in with the more fantastical elements of the world. Not bad choices at all, just interesting to see the design principles of the powers change after all this time.

I can already feel my mental energies coalescing! That's it. Today is the day I get that final mental figment from Dance Party's racetrack! Hmmm, Time Bubble seems less like the distortion of time and more like heightened senses like in The Matrix. Not that it's bad, but it makes more sense than controlling the flow of time with your mind, unless you're going for a "Mind Over Meta" concept here, which I also appreciate cause I've had similar ideas.
