Some other ones from Billie that would be great: 'I love you", 'When the party's over', 'Everything I wanted'. Her brother Finneas is great too, for example: "Love is pain', 'Break my heart again'. Curious for the ones this week!

Like Billie said the water is like representing the abuse ,that she didn't noticed until it overflooded.She writes her songs with her brother and he produces it,they are so talented.And she directs her music videos, she just turned 20 and the talent is there.

Fantastic breakdown. You pretty much nailed it. As a psychotherapist you have stumbled into a goldmine with Billie Eilish. She's incredible. If you want more of hers that you can get your teeth into, then go with 'When the Party's Over', Bury a Friend and You Should See Me in a Crown. Also, onoe of my personal favourites where Billie just creates a 'moment' is when she performs "Listen before I go" at the Steve Jobs theatre. Please react to those. Delve into her world, you will not regret it.

Firstly, Billie and her brother Finneas write,record, and produce all of their music. And Billie directs her own videos. There is so much symbolism in this video. At first she’s in a softly lit room that is old Hollywood and it’s light outside. But Billie is in a black t-shirt that says “ I won’t sell my soul”.And the way she’s singing sounds like a torch song but there’s disconnect between her and her surroundings as well as between the music and the lyrics. I think the water leaking represents reality seeping in and the flickering lights represent the gaslighting of the toxic relationship. [ Which was real and he was a classic narcissist] The watershed moment is her opening the door. And as she’s swimming to reach the surface she sings about wasting her breath. And then she breaks the surface. It’s a breakthrough “ I don’t relate to you “, and it’s like a baptismal moment of rebirth. Now she’s literally on top of the situation and speaking her truth. Truly a catharsis of breaking free. Her lyrics describe what a relationship with a narcissist is like. And no, she didn’t go back into it.

I'm excited to see some Billie Eilish on your channel. It's like you have gone through my playlist: NF, Billie, Juice Wrld, Eminem, Twenty One Pilots and so on are definitely on my everyday rotation. It surely isn't something to jam out to for the most part. All these artists bring me through the day though. Please, bring Billie Eilish back now and then. "Everything I wanted", "Your Power", "Idontwannabeyouanymore", "Listen before I go", "When the Party's over" and many more offer so much good content from a mental health point of view. But nonetheless, I'm confident about you and your selections. Keep up the quality content. Take care!

Billie is absolutely amazing and timeless! She literally made everyone lose it with this one because she'd never done anything like that before! But she blew up on the internet at 13yrs old with a song called "Ocean Eyes" it went so viral she n Finneas her big brother n producer had record labels fighting for them!! She's now 19 I believe and I am proud like a big sister of this beautiful woman who's been torn down, body shamed, everything you could think of it's happened... and she's a better person for it!

I just stumbled upon this reaction and had to click on it. My Psychotherapist turned me onto Billie’s music years ago and, being in my 40’s, I thought “will I relate to some teenagers song” - she, and FINNEAS saved my life. I was at a very dark period in my life and they got me through it. Not just their songs, but their musical process/genius and family dynamics - the love they all have for each other is unheard of. Thank you for your reaction, you’re spot on and it’s great to hear you appreciate the talent she and her brother has. 😊

Taylor Swift's "This Is Me Trying" is an incredible song with great interpretation and representation of someone dealing with addiction, depression, and/or suicidal tendencies. In the Long Pond Sessions for the Folklore album, she talks about the song too. It's a must-watch video and song to listen to.

Enjoyed your reaction. About the ending and the relationship, she's done with him. There's an entire section about her dumping him in her documentary that was released before this music video was released. The question I have though for you is why is that to me this song feels therapeutic even though I've never had such a relationship in the past?

Great reaction!!!! i love these reactions!!! Great job!!! Billie has been nominated for this song for 7 grammys this year, there is no artist like them. She also directs and edits her own music videos and everything they publish, they win grammys, brit awards etc, now they are also nominated for the OSCARS for the song that they wrote for james bond and for this song they have already won a grammy, a Golden Globe etc at only 20 years of age !!! They are pure art ...

Excellent reaction to an excellent song! I love the way this song seems to progress from the realization and resignation that a relationship is bad, through to the anger and freedom of actually escaping. Billie does an excellent job portraying emotion, and you really can't go wrong with just about anything she's done. I'd particularly love to hear your take on "Lovely" with Khalid, but it's all great. Another band you might look into is Nightwish. Excellent music, but particularly "How's the heart" from their most recent album. It's an incredible discussion of empathy, which is an underrated topic.

No matter how much pain you’re experiencing right now, you’re not alone. Many of us have had suicidal thoughts at some point in our lives. Feeling suicidal is not a character defect, and it doesn’t mean that you are crazy, or weak, or flawed. It only means that you have more pain than you can cope with right now. But with time and support, you can overcome your problems and the pain and suicidal feelings will pass. Some of the finest, most admired, needed, and talented people have been where you are now. Many of us have thought about taking our own lives when we’ve felt overwhelmed by depression and devoid of all hope. But the pain of depression can be treated and hope can be renewed. No matter what your situation, there are people who need you, places where you can make a difference, and experiences that can remind you that life is worth living. It takes real courage to face death and step back from the brink. You can use that courage to face life, to learn coping skills for overcoming depression, and for finding the strength to keep going. Remember: Your emotions are not fixed-they are constantly changing. How you feel today may not be the same as how you felt yesterday or how you’ll feel tomorrow or next week. 1) Your absence would create grief and anguish in the lives of friends and loved ones. 2) There are many things you can still accomplish in your life. 3) There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the ability to delight and lift you-and that you would miss. 4) Your ability to experience pleasurable emotions is equal to your ability to experience distressing emotions. Please stay safe :(

I think part of the reason that this song resonates so well for a lot of teenagers like myself is because unhealthy, toxic relationships are insanely common. Coming out of an unhealthy relationship about a year before this song came out was hard to do, but this song helped me and I think probably so many other people working on getting out of unhealthy relationships for good. This song is so powerful, it's crazy. She gave it her all with this one

My thought on Billie going back down into the water is that she's washed herself free of the relationship and said her peace. It's the sly smile that she gives to the camera before diving down that says this to me. It's not a look of resignation, but more of a look of strength and maybe a bit of cockiness at the situation. I'm interested to see what you think of the next song from her album after this one - Male Fantasy. I think it's a truly beautiful introspection on the relationship as well. Also, definitely check out her brother Finneas. He has many, many good songs from his EP and just singles, but his debut album "Optimist" is fantastic. Love Is Pain and Only a Lifetime are two of my favorites on that one. What They'll Say About Us is also a good one, but very heavy as it was written during the beginning stages of Covid as well as the Black Live Matter protests, which he includes both in the song. The last line specifically relates to Nick Cordero - a wrong man who fell into a coma due to Covid and how it affected his wife Amanda Kloots and their child. She documented everything during that time up to when he sadly passed away. Billie and Finneas truly seem wise beyond their years and the pictures that they paint with their music, the topics that they include, just everything they do shows that they are artists that will be remembered for a very long time.

Maybe the flood part is indicating an emotional flood.?? Edit: maybe when she’s on the roof it’s her at the peak of her understanding of what the relationship has brought her, maybe it’s her being able to see the flooded emotions and able to understand them more.

I think the flashing lights are her realizing she's been gaslighted by Q (her first real boyfriend and also a famous artist who really did her wrong. The documentary of her tour is heartbreaking when she's playing at COCHELLA which is huge and Q asked for tickets and she said "only if you'll spend some time with me" and then he was a jerk and didn't. The lyric "make all my moments your own" is about that and other moments like it I think.

Hey! I just found this channel and am very interested in what your views would be on some more lesser known songs that are right up your alley. Here are a few reccomendations: IDLES - MOTHER Braids - Snow Angels Of Montreal - Gronlandic Edit Of Montreal - Heimdalsgate like a Promethean Curse Of Montreal - The Past Is A Grotesque Animal

Omg I can't wait to see the other videos about Billie! 🥰 I think you would love: hostage (one of the most underrated of her songs in my opinions) it is my favorite one! I always love idontwannabeyouanymore, when the party's over, watch, your power, lovely, wish you were gay and bored 💗

I haven't seen this channel before - I liked your reaction. Actually, for your own pleasure/interest & not for a reaction, why not watch the "Bury A Friend" official music video from her debut album "When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go" [WWAFAWDWG - March 29, 2019] The track "Bury A Friend" has that title as its theme around topics such as sleep paralysis & the monster under the bed, written by a 17 yr. old. I'm 68, I am a Billie admirer. I thought of Gene Kelly in "Singing in the Rain" - you were close to making that connection. Laying on the roof, she has a smile on her face - release and relief, and also, before she goes back under the water, she is smiling - as a retired Lutheran minister, I like to think it was more like a re-baptism; water can symbolize chaos, but it also holds promise for life. Also, did you read her shirt "I don't have to sell my soul" - A Gen Z shirt in a room that took us back to the 1950's or 60's with Julie London or Peggy Lee. (2 of Billie's favorites). Since, you won't get to it given your long list, it would have to be for your private/personal enjoyment; Billie is a phenomenon, (I believe) a prodigy and her story is moving. Billie [12/18/2001] has Tourette's and synesthesia. FINNEAS, her brother, sole producer and co-writer 7/30/1997) also has synesthesia. [There is a documentary on Billie's life "The World's A Little Blurry" (Apple+) - which is reviewed by a therapist Dr. Kirk Honda in Seattle, his channel is Psychology in Seattle. You might like that or skip his review and watch the doc yourself {about $ 6}
