I think part of what makes this song so tragic is the fact that in the end he did die alone. Tons of people partying in the bus with him who paid no attention to the fact that he had overdosed. It makes the reality of the song hit even harder.

DO NOT Blame people for seeing him like that and thinking he was asleep.. I've many a timed been woken by my mom, girlfriends, and brother when I was asleep off the xans because I was knocked out cold basically and my skin was turning pale. Peep was so genius at bringing duality into his songs... that back-and-forth juxtaposition of horrific events with the refrain, “life is beautiful”, and then uplifting events with “life is horrible”, is just so dissonant and yet wonderful to me. i think its the juxtaposition between life’s horrors and the rather pleasant melody and undercurrent. its like a satirical jab at life, its very blunt its not sugarcoated, like what we all think when people slap us with these constant motivational and gratitude momentos like “life is beautiful” when most people arent living a beautiful life. a lot of times when you feel depressed or people try to confess the pain you’re in, people will bombard you with reminders to be grateful and the age old “life is beautiful” despite, or regardless of the reality that life is often the complete opposite. the irony between the baseline, the music, the lyrical oxymorons, the constant and consistent base. the closing lines about suicide and the comfort people actually need to not find the ledge to make life beautiful. thats what makes life beautiful, is knowing someone cares that you won’t fall or meet an early fate. life is horrible, people know this, but as a society we insist its not. the opening lines about bleeding through your cuticles, sitting in an office cubicle shooting children and it being typical in america, these are direct shots at late stage capitalism and the loneliness and lack of fulfillment that arises for the average person in a society masquerading behind “the land of opportunity” and that everyone should be grateful to be miserable. all together this is one of my favorite and most relatable songs because of the cleverness and the endless routes it provides to analyze modern loneliness that a lot of people can relate to as depression and anxiety skyrocket.

Peep speaks to all the people who feel alone, misunderstood and depressed. It helps you know you're not really alone because a lot of people are going through the same stuff.. I think his music has been blowing up a lot more since all the isolation because a lot more people are feeling the vibe he is talking about here and now. He has a ton of good music, some are fun and upbeat-- but the majority are sad songs.
