the kick is from my kick sample library :) with bass the tip is to use as little eq as possible!

Awesome sound Shep. Couple of questions. 1 - is there any particular reason you used Serum when the same thing could have been done in Vital? 2 - why did you use the filter from the effects rack instead of the main filter?

@@MuteProduction I figured it might be about showing the synergy between vsts, and yea I've got a lot of love for Serum too. I mean why not use the main filter on the OSC tab? The filter from the fx is cool and all but you just don't get the same visualisation... Was it about the need to apply eq before filtering?

ah i see, yes the reason for this is that the main filter will be silenced by the short amp envelope whereas the fx one can resonate as long as we like it to with the feedback knob :)

when you load up in Serum the wavetable you made in Vital it “reverses” , at least in my case the starting sin is pretty much reversed

Great tutorial as always. I get a very similar sound using a completely different technique in Vital. Like they say, many ways to skin a cat! SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON, HIT THAT SUBSCRIBE BUTTON.

What was the reason to use Serum rather than Vital? Was there any benefit to use Serum in this instance or could the same result be achieved using Vital?

same can be achieved in vital, i just like to show that you can mix the two synths :)

The "Trick" with the Velocity and the Wavetable position is not working at my serum. But i did the exact same steps. Can anyone tell me what i did probably wrong?

ah i found my mistake. In the matrix u have choose note on random 1 or 2 in the aux source. Maybe i could help people with the same problem

The synth game went right past me with wavetables. I hear Avalon and others doing this kinda sound and I could hear the bitcrush and the comb filters but was otherwise kinda lost…

you can just use a saw with a bandpass and a downsampling distortion, but i really like this way of doing it because the quantize warp sounds really good to me :)
