When Bergara rifles came on the scene I wasn’t so sure about them but i have come to realise that they make good reliable accurate rifles in all sorts of configurations that shooters and hunters like. You gotta hand it to them, they are also very good at marketing. Ray you got to get Gavin to have a crack at the Zeiss Sub-Moa 1 mile challenge.

Great stuff! I recently found your channel and I'm dying to come down and sling some pills on your 1 mile challenge. A good friend of mine put me behind his TRG-42 years ago and after some coaching I put together a 5 shot group of 5 inches at 820yds and I was hooked! He passed away 2 years ago shortly after running that rifle out to a mile. It took some effort to get it done as he was pretty sick by that point but that was the top of his bucket list. His widow entrusted that rifle system to me and once I've verified that distance I'm coming!

2:12 Is that the NX8 2.5-20? That's an interesting long range optic. I use it on my SPR for tactical rifle matches (100-400 yards) but have never stretched it past around 800.
@chrisjames74893 ай бұрын
It definitely is. 20x is plenty, it was not that long ago that the logic was 1x / 100 yards. The 2.5-20 is unique in that it has a super close focus and makes an amazing do all scope.

The over the barrel suppressor is a cheap nock off of an AB suppressor for more money and not near as quiet. AB suppressors seals off the gas and carbon at the end of the barrel and doesn’t double the heat on the end of your barrel there fore runs way cooler
@XRING3 ай бұрын
I’m a huge fan of the AB suppressors and have reviewed many of them on the channel! 👍🏼

yeah the great bergara hype... a friend got himself the crest b14 carbon and spent a couple hundred shots trying to figure out what ammo shot best for hunting. the gun just did not shoot well. it was never a minute or below that. he ended up giving the rifle back. the dealer tested the rifle and concluded it was not as good as bergara claims it should be. maybe he was just unlucky, who knows.

Anyone that is familiar with the BMR, what kind of aftermarket trigger and chassis options are out there for it?(im assuming it isnt R700 compatible) Like the idea but couldnt see myself actually getting one without being able to get a chassis for it. Assume the factory trigger is similar to the B14r(have one and its an awesome rifle for the money, but have a TTD in it) which really isnt bad, but id obviously prefer the ability to put something high grade in there. Any input would be appreciated Edit: Did some digging myself and YES, it is R700 trigger compatible(nice!). It is however a unique inlet, and the only stock options i can find for it are Boyds. Would love to see XLR add it to their lineup. Carbon barreled in the MG ATOM, yes please.
@sfr29293 ай бұрын
I believe bergara was great when they kept their price point down, now that theyre at the mid to highend price point i dont feel they bring much value. They shoot great though mostly, with the exception of the carbon barrel guns, i get a bunch of them in the shop with accuracy concerns and i find the barrels are far from straight

Most 6.5 CM haters are simply boneheads.
@ronkay15733 ай бұрын
Because the 260rem, 6.5swed, and 6.5x284 is faster (more powder capacity) and used in same action length. If you want REAL 6.5 velocity buy a 264mag, 26 nosler, or a 6.5-300 weatherby. Those mags are going faster at 300yds than your slow (308 velocity) is at the muzzle. That simple. Nothing special about a 6.5CM other than BS marketing.
@OvertonWindex3 ай бұрын
@@ronkay1573 Nothing special besides optimal case design, a useful case capacity (high bc bullets don't sit 3/4 the way into the case), High bc bullets in general, Literal inherent accuracy, barrel life approaching 10,000 rounds in part because of the optimal case design.. lower pressure.. , available on every shelf.. If you want faster, 6.5 PRC.

I don’t think that’s on us Trent and I don’t think his channel fits what Bergara does. These aren’t vintage sniper rifles and Bergara doesn’t make a rifle that fits a military sniper role.
