I just bought a Athlon Argos BTR Gen II 8-34X56mm FFP for $388! Couldn’t be happier with the quality of the glass and the Christmas tree reticle This channel is what got me into long range. Keep up the great content. 👍🏽🇺🇸

I have some very high end optics (NF, Stiener, Zeiss), but recently purchased an Athlon Ares ETR to put on my Tikka varmint rifle and I have to say for an affordable scope, it's VERY good, I'm impressed.
@vicdiaz518014 сағат бұрын
@@rideswift same here. The quality you get and tons of features for a sub $400 scope is really good. And the lifetime warranty is just chef’s kiss! Enjoy your scope 👍🏽

$812.12 doesn’t buy your skills ray😂 Nice job!

I think you proved the point. Having fun doesn't need to cost a lot and some calibers do make it easier. Shooting long distances is gratifying.

Well it was a most enlightening two part video and really demonstrated your shooting ability even with a low budget rig, very appealing to a Scottish person. 😂 Your content is some of the very best on You Tube.

So glad you did this video. This will change minds of some of the long range guys out there. Plus, it will get more people into it. Awesome content.

Never paid much attention to long distance shooting. This definitely changes my mind. Really enjoy your videos. Keep it up and thank you.

Thank you for this. I recently decided I wanted to get into long range, but I have a very limited budget, and this proves that it can be done. Of course, if I decide I really enjoy it, then I can always upgrade later, but this will get me started. I will probably spend a little more and go with the Ruger American Gen 2. I enjoy your channel and have learned a lot watching you. Take care.
@armorers_wrench17 сағат бұрын
If you can save up a bit more you should really consider the Ruger Precision Rifle. There is a big aftermarket for it and right out of the box its actually really decent from what I hear.
@XRING16 сағат бұрын
@armorers_wrench For sure! That is quite a step up and is an extremely capable rifle. 👍🏼
@donaldpowers833120 сағат бұрын
Well Done!! A true budget build, just proves that it can be done, I may rethink my custom rifles. The 6.5 Creed is popular for a reason, not owning the calibre may adjust my thinking. my 270 WSM and 300 WM need a stable mate.

Thanks for sharing! I got into shooting long range several years ago but I only have a 1000 yard range. Just hitting the target didn’t do anything for me I had to shoot for groups. Dozens of .5 moa and less out of a Ruger rifle I paid $800 for

Great video, Ray. These days it is getting harder to enjoy our rights with the cost of everything going up. I love the premise of getting to long range at the lowest price you can go. It makes it more evident that it is not the tool but the person behind it. That goes for our 2A rights as well.

You just did what Ive been trying to do for 6 months :) I havent had a gun in 40 yrs and i went out and bought an armalite m15ltc16 on sale and slapped a monstrum ruckus 4x prism on it. It shot bad like 1.7” at 50yd and 6” at 100. I tried everything people at the range told me. I bent the trigger spring on the mil spec trigger and polished that up from a crunchy 9lb to almost smooth 4.5lb. I took the slop outta the upper/lower. I took the slop outta the stock. I tried diff muzzle devices. I disassembled everything that didnt require busting a stake and put it back together. I worked on my hold, my breathing, my cheek weld, my trigger pull. I tried 10 types of ammo. All that gained me maybe half an moa at 50. And then i shot a 6” group again at 100 after all that and about 500 rounds. At that point i lost my mind and thought this guns junk. I drove home and put together an ar10 (on paper) in 6.5 creedmore that weighed 8.5 lb for under a grand and had all the parts on the way. The scope showed up first. A monstrum hornet 4-16x50. I had five rounds of 556 left and i put it on the gun i thought was junk and went to the range and shot em all at the same point at 100yds. I couldnt see em and i got talking to a guy that asked me if i shoot his .338 lapua mag. I completly forgot about my last 5 rounds until i got to the car and noticed all 5 where inside of a .52 inch circle. That armalite was my baby. With a baby on the way:) the 6.5 didnt work out (weight fitment feeding). I returned it all. Ive got some higher class optics showing up this week for my baby. But Id still like a 6.5 creedmoor :) Parallax does matter my friends…

Great videos! I picked up a Savage Axis on sale at PSA with intentions of putting a 6 Dasher barrel on it with a SH4. I shot the 1 mile in April with my Bergara, now I need to go back and get that sub-MOA.
@johnknouse8846Минут бұрын
With barrel and bullet technology where it is, this doesn’t surprise me at all. For just over $1500, I put together a PRS ready rifle that consistently shoots 300 yard groups under an inch with my hand loads using Berger 115’s. It’s got a 26” Shilen 1:7 twist 6mm creedmoor barrel, Savage 110 action, MDT LSS-XL chassis, and an Arken 6-24.
@CFHY8137 сағат бұрын
Buying the 24 inch threaded barrel left hand version of this rifle from a friend, just got the same optic and a magpul bi-pod... gonna be joining the 1 mile club soon, might need to get more moa out of the pic rail to make it happen but thanks for the video friend.

Thanks. This was an excellent idea for a video. I particularly like doing excellent work with the "less ego driven" type of equipment . . . . prime example being my Lithgow LA101 22 which will humble most Vudoos and Annie's in the accuracy stakes and comes close in smoothness and nice operation.
