Beautiful! Simply explained and demonstrated. Thanks D-Ray! After watching, I feel confident in lacing and truing a rim for the first time.

Thanks so much for sharing this how to video! I am restoring a Honda cb72 from 1965 and I was trying (with some difficulty) to polish the wheel hubs with the spokes still in place when I came across this video. You have made a high quality video that is very easy to follow and for that reason I will now be able to remove and relace the spokes easily myself! Thanks again kindest regards Robert Z. Thanks D-Ray, I’m about to re lace my 09’ H-D Super Glide. Dyna’s are notorious for ruining rear wheels due to the pulley bolts backing out and it’s happened to me. Thanks again for your time. Keep it up.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm from San Antonio, Tx; I can't find anyone that knows how or is probably too time consuming for them and won't do it. I'll keep watching your videos. I hope to start doing my own wheels soon🙏🏼

Thanks D-Ray. I have a custom hub with just straight across holes, and spokes angles are short and long so they become outer (short) and inner (long), but thanks to your excellent instructions I was able to lace it with only a few hiccups along the way. Now to true it. The spokes and nipples are new (chrome) and instructions are to oil screw and nipple before truing. You OK with that?

Hi this is the best video on lacing and truing a spoke wheel. The only thing I'm not sure about is calculating or knowing the hub offset if you are building a wheel from scratch, the wheel is already apart and therefore nothing to measure from original wheel. Any advice?. Thanks

Convinced me to have a go on a cr80 project rear rim, electrosis has eaten through the rim where the rim lock was (sitting out in the tropical weather)

How do you determine appropriate spoke length? I'm going to be having some rings cut to fit old Honda comstar wheels so I can lace them up to some 17" hoops, but I haven't had a lot of luck finding out what the appropriate spoke length should be

D-Ray - what resources do you know of to find replacement rims and spoke parts for vintage motorcycles with spoke wheels? I'm restoring a 1971 Honda Trail 90 and finding new wheels has been hard. Thanks, Dan

I had 1 spoke break. I fixed it. I just had 2 more break. I have warp 9 sm wheels on a WR250R. What can I do to fix this problem? I tension the spokes by the sound test and by feel I’d say the are 3-4ft/lbs. I try not to over tighten them at all. Thanks.
