Tbh you have the prettiest curls I also heat damaged my hair a lottt trying to make it straight cuz my natural hair literally looked like a brushed curly hair it took me 17 years to realize i actually have wavy hair now im starting to love my hair which is very unbelievable lol cuz my whole life i thought only I had the worst possible hair

I have wavy hair but some sections my hair is not wavy so I understand your pain. I tried both perming and straightening my hair. Nowadays I just tie my hair up. I always envy my cousin who has the most beautiful straight black hair. I am only half Chinese so I envy my Chinese classmates who have beautiful Chinese hair.

Its honestly the opposite for some of us black girls. usually when someone is mixed with white they have looser curls, silkier hair and we grow up wishing we had hair like that as well. My cousin has a white dad and an afro caribbean mother, and she got a mix of textures and ngl i was jealous. Mine is so unmanageable

It’s so funny my parents are from the Dominican Republic but I’m actually really pale and my hair texture looks a lot like yours. I have also done the Korean hair straightening for years bc I don’t know what to do with my curls. Trying to get them to the beautiful soft curls wi had when I was a little girl

Me too! Funny enough each time I permed it, and then grew it out, it grew back curlier! Idk if the perms had changed my hair texture or not… but yeah haha kinda funny
