This is an amazing video series for valve stem seal replacement. Would it be possible for you to do piston rings replacement as well on n46 engine? Thanks

Thanks! I'm doing the same job now, and this is very helpful! Do you remove the cam chain tensioner before loosening the two vanos/camshaft bolts?

Hi Mark. How did you remove the chain tensioner when the coolant pipe is in the way? And what is the torque for the chain tensioner?

Hi there I did this a long time ago with a friend. If the info isn’t in the video I don’t have it sorry.
@kameranlhoni410 Жыл бұрын
Hi, the chain tensioner torque is 65 NM.

There is white smoke coming out of my exhaust, and I’m losing coolant and oil. So is it the head gasket or the stem seals?

Any tips on removing that back left bolt? Stuck on it now and tried using spanner or socket but sockets don’t seem to seat too well and don’t want to round it!

For some reason the valve seals at the fourth cylinder on the exhaust side are harder to get out then the inlet side any tips?
@Marksreviewsandtutorials3 жыл бұрын
Yes I found that too. My tip is walk away go have a coffee and then come back fresh after awhile. Lol. That is what I did. 😄

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials i tried using a 15mm deep socket on the valve tapped it on with a hammer and it came off easy as is .

Hi mate, I'm going to tackle this myself, these days workshops don't want to work and the best offer they give me is a 4K engine replacement, can I ask some simple questions before I start. How much air pressure did you use to compress the valve up? And how long in hours did the job take (once you are in the head) What brand seals did you buy, I was told to buy genuine BMW ones but I'm worried the new ones will be plagued with the same problem 😂😂 Thanks heaps.

Hi there. Yes I bought genuine seals. No way I was going to do that much work and put in cheap seals. The compressor was open to the cylinder so it just ran and pressured up until it switched off.
