I moved a box similar to your box by my self, I bought 20 PVC pipes that were a foot longer than my box was wide. Laying them on the ground under the box, I was able to slide it back. Yes, I would uncover a pipe and move back behind. I had 2 sand bags to stop it from rolling too far. One in the back, one in front, move the bag to keep it from rolling back. Move the bag in back, drop in a pipe and keep going. Hardest part was getting all the pipes out from under. A floor jack did the job.

@AleksandrArtroom4 жыл бұрын

@@AleksandrArtroom HBPowerwall говорит что - " Total max charge/draw is 0.33 amps per cell... issues disappear " - " Общая максимальная зарядка / потребление составляет 0,33 А на ячейку ...
@GM-wc9nn4 жыл бұрын
There are some aspects of the mount I really do like, but I have serious reservations as well. The first is it seems the cells are being used as part of the mechanical structure (i.e. the weight of the pack is resting on the bottom cells). This could be asking for trouble especially when considering this second issue. A battery wall is a stationary object right? Well the unfortunate reality is this statement is only ~99.999% true. During an earthquake or other natural disturbance, I suspect there is a possibility the packs could simply fall out of the mount. Since we have little to no warning of when these types of events occur, this might pose a serious safety risk. I do like the simplicity of the design and how easy it is to swap packs in and out if needed, but the above concerns would force me to look for ways to modify it so they are addressed. Anyone have any ideas on improvements? If the mount was installed in an electrical enclosure, maybe the door could also act as a locking mechanism to prevent the bottom of the pack from kicking out? PS. Great job on using the shipping container...don’t think you’d have to worry too much about burning something down :) BTW, this is my single biggest fear with building a DIY power wall and still thinking through how to overcome it - unfortunately I don’t think my neighbors or wife would appreciate the shear beauty of a shipping container.

Man these rules are harsh, thankfully all my battery builds so far have been portable and as a result don't suffer from these new rules. Seems the best way to still make your own battery systems will be to make it in a big chest and put wheels on it, although that doesn't help if you want to make a powerwall integrated into a house's mains wiring (then again doing that without an electrician was already illegal). This situation seems similar to the FPV drone hobby. When the rules become so extreme that everyone is breaking at least one of them, it becomes easy to ignore them all together.

Question: On conventional dry cell batteries, jumper strips are spot-welded to the caps and base to prevent soldering heat from damaging the batteries. Does this not apply to lithium cells? I see clumps of solder. How do you prevent both battery damage from heat, yet prevent a bad cold solder joint? Truly curious, not bustin’ your chops.
@HBPowerwall2 жыл бұрын
The heat I inject would be causing extra damage no doubt - how much I have no idea and given when they were in the laptop there is a very good chance the got much hotter for much longer. At the end of the day its a byproduct of recycling.

Sorry, I don’t understand English. But to what I saw, I had questions. Have you considered those a couple of nuances for battery assemblies? 1) The current goes along the smallest resistance path. No matter how ideal the batteries would be, their internal resistance is different. And because of this, when charging an assembly of thousands of batteries, more than half of the batteries will not charge up to half the charge, while some batteries will already be in a recharged state (the battery charge is above normal ) And during operation, slowly but surely, one by one, the batteries will fail, along the path of least resistance. 2) The charge of the battery and the release of energy by the battery occur due to the chemical process occurring inside the battery. During this chemical process, heat is generated. Batteries located in the center of this battery assembly will overheat, from overheating they will leak, burst and cause a short circuit. So, the first question - how will you control the charge level of each battery from thousands of batteries, so as not to allow the battery to charge above normal? The second question is how will you cool the batteries, especially those in the center?
@HBPowerwall4 жыл бұрын
Total max charge/draw is 0.33 amps per cell... issues disappear
@asdf1x1034 жыл бұрын
@@HBPowerwall By "per cell ..." you mean each battery separately, or battery assembly 0:05. If you mean the battery assembly, then I agree - with such currents it is not afraid of overcharging and overheating, only I'm afraid to imagine how much it will charge. But if you mean each battery separately, then you will not control it. Because of this, modern laptops get rid of such batteries, since they charge differently because of different resistance and varying degrees of wear.

Depending on the sheetrock thickness, 25mm length screws is not much. Typically whenever used for structural purposes, screws should go into lumber 3/4" and garage drysall (gypsum board) is typically 5/8" thick so 38 or 40 mm is a better length assuming you are hitting wood studs. Hopefully the holes in the bracket line up standard stud spacing in your area. Here it is about 16" on center or 40.5 cm. USA

I know that this is quite late, and I hate to break it to you, but it may help someone else. instead of using "skates", you can use cheap laundry liquid directly on the wood. There may be some scraping/damage to the wood, but when it starts to move you will get a "surge" of movement that if you can keep up with it you can keep going for a bit. This method is effective on a lot of smoother surfaces, such as boards or debarked logs. The bigger the object is, the more runners and soap you'll need. Cheers!
