Great vid, my starter spins on the bench but won't spin on the bike. Just clicks. Plus I show 6v at starter and have 12v out of solinoid. Grounds are .01.

Just a thought. You said you weren't going to change the one bushing cause it was good so you weren't going to dig it out. I'm not sure what you mean by dig!! I don't know if you know this little trick to get bushings out of a blind hole, but if you fill it full of any grease and then tap the shaft back into the bushing it will push the bushing right out. Love your videos, Oh ya, whats going on with the boat??? Brian

Thanks B! Yup used the grease and wooden dowel on many a pilot bushings back in th' day. The boat is still chillin' right now, got to get other stuff out of the shop first, Thanks for watchin' !

Good day sir, I have the same clicking issue. If I turn the main power stub on the starter ( 1/32'') it will then start the atv. Does this sound like a bad brush plate or is there a common fix for loose fitting? Thanks for the videos

What if they are shorted to ground ... mine was working but hanging up .. cleaned it up bought new brushes ... now it will not work .. I placed a in line fuse to battery for testing and it blows fuse every time as soon as touching wires to battery.

The nose side sits in the engine oil? I don't think that's right. At least not on my bike. The manual says nothing about draining the engine oil before taking the starter motor off the bike

Do you ever need to use a "Growler test" on armatures?

I never do, usually a continuity test will do, if the windings are bad, I can tell by the dark color of the epoxy covering them. Thanks for asking !
