He has a fiberglass horn on the engine and a plastic horn on the servo and plastic ball joints. The reason not to use metal , is if it's metal to metal as it creates frequencies that can interfere. With the set up shown, especially on 2.4, there's no real concern

It is a no-n0 to use a metal rod to connect to the throttle on a gas engine. Should use Golden rod.
