I made my own and ran conduit between the two boxes for a cleaner look. Super easy to make yourself with parts from the hardware store.

Great video my friend. I spoke with Tacoma last week about upgrading my Harbor Freight POS cabinet. I opted for the high end system with the light kit nozzle and foot operated valve with pressure reg. You do great work in the explanation if the process. My cab is in great shape but is older with the external mounted tube light on top. I’ll probably have to build me a cover plate and seal it up. Thanks again for the great vid. Ken

For what it's worth, I just bought one of these cabinets last week(10/25/18) and my buddy purchased one around 6 months prior. He received the fluorescent fixture and mine had an LED fixture, which is pretty bright(remove yellow end cap and remove white filter in tube) and makes a decent light for around the shop instead of immediately to the trash can like I had planned on. It's still a cheap light but its cool that HF took everyone's complaints into consideration and attempted to include a light that would work sufficiently. Just an update for anyone getting ready to pull the trigger on one. If you follow Mr. Alvarez's proper assembly video, these cabinets are a breeze to put together, I fully sealed my upper portion as well since I had a full tube of sealant so I figured I may as well. Thanks for these videos brother, made my process far easier than those shotty instructions that come with the cab.

My issue with those large flood bulbs is breaking when blasting large items. Even those bulbs frost up. I replaced my fluorescent tube with a much brighter, whiter LED replacement tube and installed a sacrificial glass lens. It's cheap to replace, too. I understand your situation is different so your solution works for you.

Amen! Start doing things yourself instead of paying someone else to do the legwork. It will save you IMMENSE amounts of money. It saddens me to see our society adopt a quick purchase/throw away mentality.

Thank you for the post. Convinced me more than any post to go with these types of lights. I was thinking over the other 2 - LED or fluorescent

200.00 cabinet then put 800.00 in upgrading... Put silicone on the joints and run it it works fine waste of money what your doing....😩👎

The whole point is to build a cabinet for a few hundred that competes with models costing thousands. This is not necessary for a hobbyist who blasts shit once a year but once you start blasting more frequently, the defects in the stock equipment become much more annoying.

I like Mike and everything he has come out with for this cabinet but some of it is just way too high in price. i think this light kit is between $40-60 from mike, when you can piece this together at the depot for $20-25 or $30-40 if you use the nice smooth heavy duty boxes. i think i paid about $50-60 for mine but i made some upgrades like using a 25ft 12ga extension cord for the cord as well as the wires( it also happens to be red so it blends in nicely), 3 smooth heavy duty boxes(1 double gang and 2 single gang), 2 switches( one for Vac and one for light) w/ outdoor toggle switch cover to keep sand and debris out of the switches over time, an outlet in the third box on the side of the cabinet with a plug in fan reostat to adjust my vac pressure and noise, 2 white flood light holders(painted the inside of my cabinet white with appliance epoxy) w/ rubber seals attached that wont wear out over time and finally a can of black appliance epoxy paint for the boxes and face plates to make them match the black window trim. i love this series so i hope my comment is taken as constructive but id like to see everyone be able to make this cabinet the best it can be and spending wisely can really allow for major upgrades with very minor extra spending.

Anyway I'm done - used cabinet last night and it was awesome...appreciate your videos greatly! and a couple hiccups you could've easily edited out...that was even more noble of you leaving them in kid...:-) I still need couple upgrades, but I got the light from mike and some glass and I'm pleased..Yea must call them cuz their website, ordering system needs some work but they got it here no problem and relatively fast.

i dont like the idea of those bulbs you used they will drink electricity im sure there are led alternatives and people who say led's dont get warm are wrong lol. some applications they have heatsinks like flood light and outdoor lighting i have a couple theyre waterproof but i dont think theyre good for my cabinet as you say the glass will frost up so i need to find a solution similar to yours but in led hopefully i can find some glass led bulbs or something. definitely a good idea putting those rings on to stop stuff getting into the light fittings of course it has to be heat resistant and im sure it is. thanks for the video and information

Man, I love all your videos, Rafael. Damn you are so knowledgeable and thorough! Question: I have an OLDER HF blast cabinet I bought new years ago. The lighting setup it came with is enclosed in a long red sheet metal box that runs across almost the entire length of the cabinet. There is a switch mounted in it on the left side. Do I just chuck all this and cover up that big gaping hole in the top or should I just leave it and put these flood lights elsewhere? I have a feeling those big flood lamps might get in the way of putting some larger parts in the cabinet, especially the one near the door.

Keep the setup you have and install a fixture on each side. You will still have plenty of room or you can always unscrew a bulb if its an issue.

If break down of the wire housing is all I've got to worry about in good. I bought two 5000 lumen 50 W LED flood lights with wire as thick as those for $25 on Amazon that are awesome. They're an inch thick, 5" deep and 7" long and are so bright you really only need one. LE Lighting EVER isc the brand. Also, I think it's cool what the Tacoma company does but they are wayyy! too overpriced in my opinion as I was able to do every ugrade for half the price with better pieces in some areas.

You are correct sir. I have received the vacuum motor from the Tocama company. I performed mock-up measurements for the motor and mounting the upgraded lighting kit on the upper back panel to observe all clearances. Everything fits well with no issues.

I'll do you 3 better, I went Home Depot, they have a led light, 6in long, rechargeable, usb, just like your phone, I put the lights, I used 2, in zip lock freezer bags, they have magnets on them, no drilling, no bullshit cheesy incandescent lights, and you can turn them on and off without even taking them out of the bag.
