Some of my questions as a new graduate are, how many patients are scheduled and expected to be treated together hour by hour by one therapist? What is the normal case load day to day? How is productivity measured at this company? What is the demographic for patients ie. neuro, ortho, acute care, etc? Will I be expected to travel from clinic to clinic in my area or will I be hired for a single location? Are there opportunities are provided for continuing education?

Congratulations on getting your ged. Having that and knowing what you want to do is a great start. Do not look back. Your past is behind you and doesn't define you. What you do today is what determines who you will become. You have the ability to be a PTA and continue your education and be the Physical Therapist. I believe in you. God bless 🙏

Loved your responses, I'm 26 and just now realizing that PTA might be the job for me. One of the questions I have been preparing for the entry to the PTA program is (if I'm asked), "What will you do if you don't make it into the PTA program?" I've had many jobs in the past and I've already graduated with a Bachelors in Music... which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the medical/health sciences fields. I've become a Realtor as well and had other jobs such as a Supervisor at TJMaxx and the Marketing Director of a supplement shop, ugh. I feel as if I'm pulled in so many directions I honestly wouldn't know how to answer this question... any advice? I would probably end up telling them I would apply for a Technician job and continue to work as a Realtor too, but that just doesn't seem impressive to me.
@AntonioSanson6 жыл бұрын
Melody Myers well first of all I would just be honest with them because people respect that. Based on what you told me about your past experience I would say something like this, “I am a person who is motivated, so if I don’t get accepted into the program that is not going to stop me from trying again or keep pursuing a better career. Ive had other jobs in my past and some of them didn’t work out as well but I am persistent to keep trying until I succeed.” You seem to have potential in a lot of things! Keep pressing forward and you will do great. Let me know how your interview goes!

Hey man my names William and I’m 19 years old . I used to be very active in sports and through that I’ve actually had three knee surgeries. Now that that’s over I’m out of high school and it’s been a few months and I really fell in love with the physical therapy work and I would love to become a PTA ! My only worry is in high school I didn’t get the best grades and I’m dyslexic , so it takes me longer to do schoolwork then others . Do you think this is something accomplishable for someone like me?

However I know it’s a really competitive program so I’m really nervous about being able to ACE everything even though I know with hard work I can The thing that makes me nervous is the inevitable interviews 3 years down the line because sometimes in interviews they throw curveballs at me and I’m not really sure how to get people to like me lol

Hey Antonio, I am currently a under grad majoring in Kin (in my 3rd yr). I have been contemplating whether I want to continue in pursing a career in PT because I also like the idea of being a PTA. Any advice?
@AntonioSanson6 жыл бұрын
Flores Brianna some of my classmates in my program had their bachelors in kin but they decided to go back to school to become a pta. So if that is what you are passionate about then sweet! Lol I’m gonna be making more videos covering the ins and outs of a physical therapist too so maybe that could help you decide as well if you want to do that instead of a pta. You’ve got options!

@AntonioSanson6 жыл бұрын
JM YABUT awesome man! Talk to the program director first, usually they will give you a sheet of all the classes you will need to take to become a PTA. Usually that sheet is broken down by semester to show you exactly what classes you need to take each semester.

@AntonioSanson5 жыл бұрын
I would tell the employer that I never provide bad service so this would never happen to me... lol hahah I'm kidding. I would just try to understand what the patient is having an issue with so I can try to address the situation and improve my care to what the patient is looking for. It might just be a simple misunderstanding so hearing where the patient is coming from will help me know how to meet the patient's needs. I'm always open to feedback on how to provide better care. Something like that I would probably say.
