I wish you would have shown how to clean the clogging of the drain pan to the outer part of the PTAC. There were some good points but just demonstrating the fixes would have been nice.

Our old GE dial units never leak, nor do our Amanas', but all the Friedrichs do. We have a wall sleeve issue as well and are currently shimming with fat door stops. XD
@eduardohandyman3 жыл бұрын
the reason why the ptacs leak inside the room, is because since the cold cleaner came out in spry , no one wants to remove the unit to wash with coil cliner and water,theis only spraye them with the coil cleaner spray and that is everithing is ready clean they say, and oll the dust in the wet coil closes the drain of the ptac and when the water cannot come out from behind, it overflows in from of the room

Hey, so from the outside through the grate I can see the drain pan is holding standing water. The wall sleeve has a visible drain pipe to the outside, but where is the drain pan supposed to drain from?
@PtacSolutions3 жыл бұрын
Hello, the water goes from the ptac drain pan to wall sleeve where the drain pipe is connected. The unit has some holes on the back side where the water drains, also some of the water is picked up by the fan and shoot through the condenser coil
@ianharkins21723 жыл бұрын
@@PtacSolutions thank you. So if I’m getting water on the carpet inside, there’s probably something preventing the condensation from flowing to the back of the drain pan.

Lift the front of the PTAC and screw it into the sleeve this will make the unit lean back and drain. Or drill some holes into the wall sleeve so it’ll drain. Lol so many easier methods
@PtacSolutions3 жыл бұрын
Hello To drill holes into the wall sleeve would work if the the back of the sleeve was sticking out to the outside of the building, but there situations where that's not the case, like if they would be on the second or third floor, the water would just come into the building through the sheetrock or ceiling tile.
@angelojuvera58853 жыл бұрын
@@PtacSolutions True . I've dealt with that. Had to caulk the inside corners and openings of the sleeve so that the only place for water to flow was the drain itself.

Friend! So I got a pmh093 that I discovered today with the electronics compartment full of water I noticed that on the drain pan on the id coil it was chipped (missing a little bit maybe a 1/4 inch right at the lip) this is visible right were the metering piston is will you say that's were the water is leaking to the electronics bay,? I was confused so I watch your video because of this will you know if this series of ptacs drain to the OD blower like the one on this videos ? thanks so much man!
@PtacSolutions3 жыл бұрын
Hello, If the drain pan is missing a piece than more than likely that's how the water is overflowing to the electrical compartment. I have used some putty to create a boarder so the water won't overflow. It has worked for me, you could try it just make sure the pan is completely dry. So, you can eliminate that possibility
