They figured it would save cost and eliminate the possibility of any leaks. Valves can leak over time. But yes, it would be nice. Maybe find some sweat on valves and braze them on as needed.

I have been trying to find a video on these Amana PTAC units. Old vs New. and this is as close Is i have found so far. I have a new style Amana ptac that is maybe 7 years old. last year, we had a power outage that abruptly shut off this unit during cooling. When it came back on, it started leaking condensate. not inside, outside, as the older units did. I called my landlord who called Carrier Local Service who said, "Its hot, thats normal, it always does that." and blew me off. First off, it was 74F degrees, that isnt hot. Second off.... it never did it the first 7 years.... Third.... ive got 36 units in this apartment complex, the only ones that drain condensate are the very few old ones left, and mine. So if mine is working properly, i have 30 that arent :) That was Sept 2020, i shut it off for the season but now its time use ac again. It Cools, but my Electric usage is higher. my theory.... am i correct in saying that these new units spray the condensate back on to the condenser coil to cool it and which increases efficiency and also causes the condensate to evaporate thus causing no drainage outside the unit. when other working units end their cooling cycle, you can hear the spray shut down, with mine, i can no longer hear this spray. forgive my long rambling post, im not very good with writing anymore, i have a ton of health issues and i cant just put a meter on it, or take it apart. full disclosure, (im a retired master electrician, with a combo cert in build, mech, plum, and electrical inspection) but none of that matters when the body wont work, and i just cant remember crap anymore) Thanks, i will pay for solution. love your channel.

my theory, i left un finished, :), is that something is wrong with the condensate to coil evaporation, and i forget why the power when out, but i believe it was a lightning strike a block over. thanks any help is appreciated

Have you checked to see if its freezing up or if the unit pan is stopped up with anything. Usually these units are installed with a 3/8 slope so that the water can drain out the back where the condenser is. Your theory sounds correct though. I will look into this for you. I wish you better health my friend.

Could the slinger be broken ? Maybe the slinger is broke and laying where the fan doesn’t rub against it.

thanks for the video... although I have an old good working Carrier PTAC unit model #52BHA014301AA and......I want my Ptac to go on when the wall thermostat heats up the pipes above the ptac unit and off when the boiler shuts off and the pipes get cool.How do I accomplish this if my sensor is just working off of ambient room temp? My room thermostat does this already. Should I relocate the sensor right over the heating coils that run over the top grill? OR... get a sensor that can do this? THANKS, any suggestions? very much appreciated. My bedroom Island Aire ptac unit has a sensor that I just locate over the grill area and it works both the heat and the ac thermostat. THis old ptac seems to have a wand sensor over by the a/c intake that is indoors? This way as I've said, it never registers the heat in the actual pipes.

Any thoughts on Applied comfort PTACs? My technician is pushing me towards them but I can't find much in the way of reviews or information about this company

Avoid applied comfort at all costs. Their warranty is only in theory. They do not stand behind their machines.

Hi this unit is a heat pump and we all know heat pumps will heat to a certain " Temp " before it stops and switches to the heating elements... like -12C or -25C do you know whats the tipping point for these Goodman units ? thank you 🇨🇦

I am not sad at all. I like the fact that it is impossible for refrigerant to leak. It is because I almost died from refrigerant leak.

Freidrich LG LP093CDUC or Friedrich PDH15K5SG 900 square ft apt. Filter are clean, Don't t have wall thermostat, to turn on cooling I have to turn down to 61 F degrees and 70% percent off time doesn't turn on at night, only during late morning when it's warm outside, when it's running at 65 durgees just keep tempture at 73-75 durgrees then turns off around 3 hours or not at al,l I just turn temp down to 61 durgeess it has not turn on 4 hours 12am this has been unit has never work right when move in move in for 3 years
