Didn’t send me new compressor cover bolts that fit either. Sent me slightly larger 8.8 grade bolts and thank god i didn’t force them in otherwise I would have stripped the aluminum. I had to reuse by old bolts. His response was, mine are hard to get. I asked this kid what to order BEFORE I ordered anything. WTf did you send me garret cover bolts for SMH
@mikesimmons38765 жыл бұрын
His exact response: There are different versions of the turbos, yours has 5/16 thread bolts if they don’t fit. Precision had 2 variations of the bolts. On the t4 turbine housing they used 5/16 x 18, on the t3 they used 8mm x1.25. The compressor housing uses 5/16 short bolts, they aren’t easy to get. I include the 8 x 1.25 for the garrett turbo cover. If you want the 2 piece brackets I have those, you can use the 3 or the 2.

I spent an entire week powder coating and rebuilding a TE-60 for my GN. Guess what happens when you forget to put locktite on the compressor nut?

I have a PTE6265 journal bearing turbo with exess play. Can i use the universal t04e rebuild kit? Very good video! Thanks
@turbolabamerica6 жыл бұрын
Watch out for the variation shown here. It’s rare but more common on units from the early 2000 year models turbolabofamerica.com/garrett-t3-t4-to4e-to4b-turbo-rebuild-kit/ other wise the kit is a direct fit. I do have the different bearings too if you have the ball bearing shaft

Very informative! I've recently found your channel and watched quite a few of your clips, they're all very interesting covering a wide range of turbos and applications. Do you have any clips of rebuilding Blouch turbos ? reason for my asking is I have a Blouch Domintor 2.5 BB billet aka Polka Pickle ..that failed after 4500 miles, All sorted now but I was just wondering what your experience and opinion you had of that turbo. thanks! keep the clips coming :D

+CharlesTun4 they are just like the ballbearing gt35r on the inside I need to make a hd video of the gt35r assembly, I have the t35r disassembly

Turbo Lab America that would be really good to see. my turbo failed with the bearings cages melting due to high exhaust temps ..possibly due to higher exhaust temps from ceramic coating the exhaust housing? I'm from the UK so no way I could have used your services. however the turbo has now been upgraded with metal bearing cages and thick bearing heatsheild . .hopefully that's a step in the right direction

Hey I’m trying to rebuild a precision 6266. I have one of your rebuild kits. I have the turbo mostly stripped down, c clips are removed from the center section. I can’t get the bearings out. I’ve tried hammering them out with a vise, heating them with a torch.. and everything. What do I do to replace these stupid bearings please?
@turbolabamerica2 жыл бұрын
I would try to press them out with a socket

I followed your video but my shaft will not go back in. What could be the problem? Looks like I am going to have to order a new rear seal ring as well.
@turbolabamerica4 жыл бұрын
The bearing housing can be damaged to where the rear seal won’t go on, the bearing housing may need to be replaced, the shaft may need to be replaced also. You can check by putting the rear seal on and more it around on the shaft to make sure it doesn’t bibd

Mine done the same thing, put the thrust spacer on first then the journal bearing and it will slide right in.
