great info ... I was checking a used truck the other day that looked like it had an oil leak from both ends, the inlet of the intercooler area was soking with oil and the same where the pipe coming out of the exhaust side of the turbo meets the rest of the exhaust system. i took off the oilcap with the engine running, it had no blowby.

(Quran, 4:157) Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but rather to confirm and renew it.

That's a good video to explain some very simple priniciples in diagnosing oil leaks downstream of the turbo. One question, what impacts can a DPF make? If it is blocked can it contribute to the high crankcase pressure? And therefore be the cause of oil leaks in the turbo?

I'm really facing the worst problem on my 2011 ford figo turbo, changed 3 turbos in less than 6 months but got no solution from service centre or local mechanic. great video i have oil in exhaut and white smoke when i removed the feed oil pipe and oil return pipe was clogged i think this was the reason, i'm waiting for turbo specialist to see what they say about turbo now

This is a excellent video. I shared it on a Mustang forum as the Mustang Ecoboosts (4 cyl turbo) have some issues with smoking with stock PCV or even catch can modifications. I recently replaced my PCV as it was no longer functioning correctly at all times which seemed to have solved the problem, but it has smoked a couple of times at low idle. Question: can you share some additional info on why the oil is not getting "slinged" at low idle and what is a possible solution? Appreciated!

I put a vz21 turbo on my dirt bike and made my own banjo fitting and going doin the road it's blowing smoke like a train I'm going to make the bolt hole smaller and see if that works because it's too much oil pressure thank you

Like using Nissens or Lucas or similar to replace Garrett or Borg OEM turbos. Is it better to renew the old/original one or buy an already renewed one or buy a non-OEM turbo? Thanks.

It's a very good video and thanks a lot for the knowledge. I am driving a Land Rover Discovery 4 tdv6. The sequential secondary turbo is leaking internally and the engine oil is accumulated in the intercooler. This is sometimes driven at 2800 rpm to activate the second turbo and burn it. I am wondering if this is the right way to deal with it. Also, if there is a better way, please recommend.

I had the drain hose unplugged into a coke bottle and had oil leaking out the exhaust side of the turbo. So it makes sense

Best turbo explanation ever...... However this VW Polo 1.2 TSi together with the white smoke when revving it also shows code P302 and P303 indicating engine misfire on cylinder 2 and 3..... changed spark plugs and swapped ignition coils but still shows the fault code on same cylinders.....i took out the turbo and about to clean it properly coz its very clogged up with oil and carbon build up.... also the CAT converter is full of oil.... gonna clean that out as well....... #1 ....how do u perform a test to determine crankcase pressure is the issue? #2 ... and how to determine cause of excessive crank pressure? #3 ...Can a blocked oil pick up filter being clogged or vacuum leak or blockage also cause back pressure in the crankcase? Dont wana tear down the entire engin just yet if issue is elsewhere and easier to fix NB : ......the white smoke does not have your typical burnt oil smell ..... it smells clean actually more like a fuel /moist air smell.......car is using 2 quartz of oil a week on day to day work and back use

If you have exhaust gas coming into your cooling system then that may mean you have a bad gasket
