Notes for this video: 1. Apologies for the lack of external shots of the train moving at high speed. This is incredibly difficult in TSW when trains are going 100mph or more, as you can't pause the game and move the free cam at the same time. The train simply moves too fast for you to get ahead with the camera! 2. Apologies for the green box to the right of the image at the start of some video clips. This is caused by Nvidia ShadowPlay indicating the recording has started, and I forgot to cut some of them out!

@@hyzwar hopefully the newer versions of the game will allow for better videos to be made for those who like to make recorded routes. You would think they may have a mode just for those who love making route videos because there is so many cool things they could do for this/that format.

Thanks for that video. TSW hits the sweet spot for me. I'm a truck driver and areas like Kent, Nordrhein-Westfallen, Kassel, Dresden, Leipzig I visit basically every week due to them being the fastest route from Poland to UK. Seeing them in different perspective while recognizing the surroundings from the real world is a really nice feeling. Im glad you came back to making videos again. You're proffesional.

Hey when’s the next one mind asking
@Pc-fs7vc2 жыл бұрын
Hi, how do you get around learning routes to be able to play without using the HUD? I've wanted to do this for a while but have never put in any serious effort into it. Is it driving the route initially with the HUD on and taking mental/physical notes of where key features are such as stations, signals, landmarks, braking points, etc?
@mlx39996 Жыл бұрын
Basically, yes. Take actual notes, you will never remember the mental ones. Next time you drive the route, you can further refine your braking points. Drive with the HUD on and get a basic idea of how far you have to brake. For example, when route learning the London-Brighton route, I knew that from 90mph, I should brake at about between 1.5-1.3 miles from the station. I’d take notes of any landmarks at those points, and go from there.

Hi, at 26:50 there are two black boards that come from the french signalling system. These are called « coupez courant », for cut (traction) current, french translation for a neutral section. This section of track must be passed with all MCBs opened, or for some units, pantographs lowered. You didn’t mention them as I think these are not mentionned anywhere in the route manual, furthermore the TVM 430 system allows for these neutral sections to be managed automatically by the train (we call this a « ponctuelle », for punctual route information), unfortunately this hasn’t been simulated. Maybe in future videos you could talk about this particular thing of this new route ! And as a french train driver I can assure you there will be huge electrical problems on the line if you pass neutral sections with 100% power 🤣
@PTGRail2 жыл бұрын
I’m aware of the existence of neutral sections on UK routes with overhead electrification, but didn’t realise they were present on this route. I can see those boards now you mention it! In the UK, the train driver is supposed to cut power to idle to pass through a neutral section. I didn’t realise the TVM system can manage these automatically, but like you said they haven’t been simulated in TSW. I will bear this in mind for future videos though! :)

I used to watch all of these videos a few years ago. They were all I thought about - it's been some time. If you ever make it back I hope its on the latest Train Sim World... Of course you (ptgrail) went away for a time and came back for a short time. Loved watching this videos but I hope if you come back you start making videos where you utilize the trains announcers voice like you only did on a few videos - There are other things you didn't due you could because one day when I am in the right situation, I hope to make videos just like this myself as I got so many ideas from watching yours. I'd like more dialogue - for instance the tunnels could be spoken on and when and were you enter nation parks (maybe why they are national parks) and famous structures trackside could also have comments about them - but I have thought of so many more things...
