I don't understand why people criticise the content in this song. I think it's amazing, Protest the hero is a band that, despite they play progressive metal, they are still making this "punk" style, with punk i refer to the lyrics content, in this album (Volition) there is a lot of very interesant messages (and excelent music too). If you are an artist, you will try to create and say what you want. For me PTH is a very complete band and i am proud to listen to this.

The message about pit bulls really hits home because I, like many, live in a city with a pit bull ban. These dogs are absolutely amazing, and I can't believe how little people seem to care. "They're just dogs. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about them." Animals are living creatures, too. They feel pain and experience emotions just like people. Dogs are very emotional animals, and I wish more people understood them, or at least tried to.

I don't own a pitbull but they are a banned breed in some cities and counties here, Most shelters will not adopt them out here either because of the stereotype the media has perpetuated to demonize this animal. Honestly I feel as if they went back to their roots. Kezia kinda wandered a bit from where A Calculated Use of Sound started from. Fortress still covered certain social topics like the rich taking advantage over the poor and such. Volition though there's a noticeable difference. I kinda want to say a lot had to do with them leaving Vagrant Records and them basically self publishing their own work.
