please read this verified info...with resources and proof....PTK is NOT "indigenous pure Filipino art" as GM gaje claims.... GT Gaje said his pekiti tirsia started 1897 BUT if you ask Eskrimadors and historians from Negros Island like James U. Sy Jr and Rene Tongson amd Samuel A. Ibe, Gm Jerson tortal jr (his nephew, by the way GM jerson tortal Sr is GM gaje’s uncle), Celestino Macachor of Cebu, and ex-pupil Daniel Foronda (on FB you can contact them to verify), pekiti is a mix of Tortal family arnis, Lapulapu vinas arnis, Momoy canetes spada y daga and Indonesian silat by Eddie jaffri. Due to marketing and exoticiization to promote pure Kali to foreigners GT gaje marketed it as such...when in fact all Arnis styles like Pekiti Tirsia Arnis (yes the former name) have Spanish roots There is definitely a Spanish connection to FMA evidenced in the Spanish loanwords like contradas, abecedario, baston, daga etc. That is why do NOT believe in Jay Bataclan, Mick Alcaraz, GT Gaje's claims that ptk is "indigenous pure Kali without Spanish influence" which is Not true. the guys i mentioned spread fake news on PTV 4, CNN Philippines and Abs CBN La Luna Sangre, Not everybody is uto-uto (gullible) ; Many on The Filipino Martial Arts Forum on FB knows the PTK myths perpetuated by Gaje, Bataclan, etc. Even the Urduja Kali princess portrayed by JULIA SAUBIER promoted by Academy of Survival arts is a MYTH debunked by PH Historian Ambeth Ocampo of Ateneo de Manila University. it is necessary to Expose the truth like what Daniel Foronda did mumbakki.wordpress.com/2012/09/30/filipino-martial-arts-two-most-common-questions/ - so well meaning people who will study FMA are NOT manipulated/deceived by marketing and exotization...By the way you can contact GM Dionisio Canete on FB, he trained with GT Gaje also, so the Doce Pares sinawalis carried over to PTK, just watch their videos... Also this Lapu lapu vinas arnis Handblade was borrowed into PTK kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmm8eJtrjJ10r7c compared to kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5Wkq55vd5uliJo

what does all these stories have to do with the effectiveness of the techniques of this style?! maybe it makes sense for you to develop sparring where at least most of the techniques studied in the style are used and it would be relatively safe? And then all your tukhons look very pale in fights with ordinary athletes who were engaged in sports stick fighting several times less in time. for example, personally, your stick fight on the internet did not differ in a variety of techniques. Why waste time on useless information, who misled whom, when the effectiveness of your sparring is very low?

@@ЕвгенийКрылов-и1пIt can have an actual rôle in how you approach the art itself and how effective tou become at it. Kali in general the way it is taught in most schools prefer to teach a close range form of combat. If you look into european (spanish, italian and french school of fencing, as they are all intertwined and extremely well documented compared to kali), you will find how to manage distance and long distance form of combats. There is also what is called geometrical fencing, which brings an almost scientific system in the mix. Therefore, you will learn european sources of the hybride art of Kali, New ranges and distance management, and a geometrical perspective of the art. Obviously, all of these are immensely useful.
