A small issue has popped up on the Allis. Power got restored after only being out for 36 hours, not too shabby.

Thankfully electricity is more dependable now than it was 50 years ago. Nice to have a generator for backup power even though it costs a fortune to run a few days. All we have is a Honda i3000 for use on the camper...the house furnace is about the only thing it will run at any single moment. Newer homes takes a lot more electricity than an older home. Conveniences costs!

Biggest power hog here for the winter is the house heat, water heater, and the heating elements for the 2 cattle fountains... of the 3, the generator can't support the house heat unless I turn off some of the heating elements themselves it would probably work, but then again space heaters do the job well.

It's funny- you don't realize how used to have electricity you are until it goes out and you go around flipping on light switches and nothing happens! LOL Longest we have had to run our generator was about 18 hours, though the power doesn't go out here very often :)

Usually here it doesn't go out much unless an ice storm, or frost in this case, comes along... most times its when its cold out too lol

Looks like a winco generator. Got one here. Put synthetic 80/90 in the chain case a couple years ago.

That cold stretch was not uncommon but it did last for a longer stretch than usual. I think the coldest I had was -31°F ambient. Wind-chill was much worse.

It did span out longer that years past, think due to how far south it stretched. I told someone else that to get the cold air out of here it needs cold air from the south lol

Emissions should be ok. Do like the southerners and make a small barrel stove for inside the water tanks!

Large covered tire tanks work wonders, as long have enough drinking to keep some fresh ground water coming in. What stinks is dealing with everything else not to freeze up lol

Yea I think this one is rated for 25kw.. Doubt it can support that high anymore, but still gets the job done.

How can you not run a tractor on high revs when Pto speed of 540 is required = 2000 rpm or thereabouts, besides the harder you run tractor the better it is for Diesel engines 😳😳

There's no point in running an engine fast when it doesn't need to. All it does is burn more fuel and, for example with this tractor after 9000 hours of runtime, each revolution add up A LOT on all of the mechanical components. It's a reason why AGCO (and now more mfgs) are having "economy PTO" options, because there are so many PTO jobs that don't require that much power... most times you don't even need to run implements at full PTO speeds. I think the only 2 machines that run full pto speed on is the generator and the dry fertilizer spreader because they both require those speeds for proper operation.
