PTO to Hydraulic post hole Digger Conversion

This is going to be one handy addition. I took this 3pt post hole auger and converted it for use with my skid loader.

Please tell us exactly what hydraulic motor you used. Finding the exact motor torque and speed is the challenge for these different conversions. I have a new-to-me Case TR340 Track Loader and am converting all my equipment from tractor to use with my skid steer track loader. I am in the process of converting my Heavy Duty Bush Whacker Mower at the moment, and putting a mounting plate on the back of my box blade. Please show us what motor, brand, and model number you used on this Auger so I can convert mine as well.

They are currently out of stock for that motor, but they could find you something similar Im sure. I have a video on my channel showing the conversion of a brush hog as well. @@TimothyKingRealtor Surplus center also sells hydraulic motors with the 540 rpm pto shaft splines. You would have to figure out the hydraulic flow of your skid steer and match a pump to get the rpm you want.

@@metalisawesome2811 - Thank you Sir. That information is awesome. I am buying a hydraulic motor today from a local dealer for the Brush Cutter (conversion of a Bush Whacker) that matches the torque and speed. Will be converting my auger next as I need to build fences around the farm.

Cool. Surplus Center is cheap for hydraulic hoses. My son is wanting to make a brush cutter to mount on his skid steer. We just cut 3/8" plate on the CNC Plasma table and have a local fabricator with a break bend it to make skid steer mounts. Cheap and heavy duty.

Could you have mounted the pump 90 degrees to eliminate the need for a counter weight, then use the tilt to straighten the auger

I don't really know, it would be something to try, maybe make a small scale version of the mechanism and see how it would operate. I've seen it done this method on other videos, so I just implemented their style. The ones that you buy that are meant for skid steers are still free motion in both directions, the weight should pull the post auger plumb in both directions regardless whether or not the skid steer is on a slope/level ground.

What is the pressure valve set at on that? Is that valve necessary?
