Oh, so your problem is that people on the other side of the planet have extremely high ping, don't speak your language, cheat at extremely high rates, and negatively affect the game balance and your enjoyment of the title you purchased?
You must be a racist.

I can actually fully explain the chinese loud room mics. In China and the rest of Asia (with an exception to Japan) most "hardcore" gamers play fps's in a public gaming cafe. These cafes are loud as shit, and I can guarantee you that the majority of these cafes have PUBG installed. Thus so why it's one of the most popular games in China. PUBG is the perfect game to play in an internet cafe.

Its standard for a game to kick you if you have a very high ping, its been that way for over 10 years ... it's not new and its damn easy to add into a server .... Greene and his team are too inexperienced and not talented enough to make PUBG survive, just look at the mess the game is now ... they haven't got a clue how to make it better. Funny because they have so much money so they can hire talent and get new offices etc etc but instead of fixing PUBG they cut the team even smaller and told them to keep at it while most of the team work on another game hahaha.

Rainbow six siege seem to kick players that are getting unstable ping. ALTHOUGH I'm the one getting fucked in the ass(and I don't really like it that way) because when I get a single ping spike, from 50 to 200 LITERALLY for a second, I get kicked 20 seconds later when my ping is all good. You play a match, and you're like ooh shit I'm lagging, no... just a spike, let's fuck 'em up! BOOM banned from server for high ping. And their system of reconnecting is so bad that sometimes you have to restart the game to get the option to reconnect, sometimes... you just can't reconnect and sometimes, and this is by far the funniest shit ever, someone gets matched into a game that is 4 rounds in(competitive match) and takes your place so you can't reconnect xDDDDD this so is bad for the guy that takes your place and for you...

PUBG has plenty of issues. one of them being an absurd number of bot accounts because use them to grind out points to buy the crates to get gear to sell it on the steam market. and a large LARGE number of chinese hackers. proof for this being from the killcam function they added which has shown a number of people multiple times themselves getting shot through walls or at impossible distances (distances where youre arcing over hills or at points so far off that even with some of the best scopes you cant even discern what youre looking at to KNOW if theres a target there.) theres optimization problems on PCs using certain software combinations, GPU components etc. and i dont mean someone has an old GPU and cant render the game properly. i mean the updates for the game actually destabilize someones GPU software for the game and cause frame issues. this was SOMEWHAT fixed in the 1.0 release but i still (using a Gigabyte 1080 card) experience frame issues in areas on both maps. all of my hardware is up to date and more than qualified to run the game at the settings im using at 120 frames steady MINIMUM. and its capable of running games like starcraft 2, elite dangerous, Star Trek Online, Rainbow six siege, overwatch, stellaris, injustice 2, everspace, ETC on maximum everything at 1080p resolution. PUBG has fixed a substantial amount of its optimization problems but they do still exist. theres also huge issues with hit registration on guns. specifically shotguns, where i can have my reticle over someones chest at 5 feet away, no part of the reticle is outside them their chest is FILLING the reticle, and miss every shot and pepper the wall behind them. theres issues with hit boxes on vehicles that can cause a vehicle thats barely moving at all. like moving inches at a time, can instakill you just by touching it. even if its moving away from you when you touch it. PUBG has spent more time on glamorizing its maps than it has improving the already potential filled combat aspects. and because of this the game feels substantially lack luster by comparison to other games like fortnite. who dont NEED the extra polish on their combat cause the system isnt as in depth. instead PUBG has tried to pull the hand of the copyright law over the rest of the genre to pull customers over because theyre too lazy to fix their own inherent problems.

PUBG is a mediocre game at best from a technical stand point, what makes it good is they were the 1st to pull off a good idea. Lets be honest, a bigger dev team and company that know how to make online games is going to copy the idea and make a better version of it in the future and this will be left in the dust as those who love the idea but hate the BS that came with it flock over to the new shiny thing.

I was on the fence about PUBG but after this video I'm not gonna touch that game. 1) Banning people just for being accused of stream killing. 2) Banning people for team killing someone who is actively killing your team members. 3) Up tight Devs who think they invented Battle Royal, which is the name of Japanese movie with the very premise of their game. It's basically a King of the Hill match, or Counter strike on larger scale, or Hunger Games mods in games. 4) Performance issues 5) In game Ads 6) Stupidity of Devs calling their players Racist for complaining about international LAG issues

I more or less got my 29.99 USD out of it, having over 500 hrs. this video has pretty much summed up why I've stopped playing it. barring a turnaround where Bluehole sort out the cheating problem and upgrade the servers so it's actually playable as a fast-paced first person shooter, I'm not going to even load up PUBG only to waste my time on a mediocre experience. far from only screwing only the rest of us by allowing the Chinese hacker issue to plague every other server, Brendan Greene and co have screwed their Chinese playerbase with the server controversy and their failure to get the hacking under control which is going to disproportionately affect Asian servers. the gall he then has to act as if he loves his Chinese fans and is shielding them from the xenophobic collective will of evil Westerners is mind-boggling. I feel just as bad for them as I do for anyone who has been putting up with the more generalized hacking issue.
@ForOne814

Well, I didn't have problems with Chinese guys because I live in Russia and have bad ping too. Not my fault though, no servers for Russia. @PyroMancer2k
@PyroMancer2k 7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't really matter that he made Arma mod. The point was more that this idea has been around a while he's just the first to hit it big and make a name off it. He even admitted the Battle Royal movie was an inspiration. Which also inspired another author to make the Hunger Games which you see mods of in other games like Minecraft Hunger Games mod. Most people aren't as familiar with the Battle Royal name because it's a Japanese movie but if instead of saying "This is BATTLE ROYAL" like he does on the steam page description he'd referred to it as "This is HUNGER GAMES" then everyone would have known the reference and he would have been sued into the ground. It's a lot like the MOBA genre which most people think of League of Legends and then more recently DOTA and HOTS. But those in the know are aware it started a LONG time ago as a Mod called Aion of Strife (AOS). There were a lot of different variations on it at the time with people making their own makes and just referring to them as AOS style maps. Then the DOTA mod hit and it started to become the standard. Some companies saw and realized how popular this new genre could be and they could just call it DOTA style like people did back with AOS so they created the MOBA name for the genre. And created their own MOBA style games to which the rest is history. Him trying to claim he created this genre when all the pieces were there in other mods for a long time is just being egotistical. It would be like one of the creates of DOTA complaining that other companies started make MOBA when they supposedly came up with the genre that was already around in the form of AOS. Plus he has already enjoyed a massive amount of success with PUBG and crying about competition in the market just come across as self entitled greed.

Since there are VPN services and a lot of Chinese players seem to be using them, a region lock wouldn't necessarily make that much of a difference. The better solution would be to set a ping limit and open some servers that were still limitless for players that want to play with players in other regions. This way it would also be harder for anyone to call it xenophobic.
@IlDeimos
@IlDeimos 7 жыл бұрын
Nakna_ankaN It would be if PUBG would block Chinese VPN's. I host a game called Codelink V2, and I had to block the entire country of China from connecting to the servers. 100% of Chinese players would cheat on my servers. There are a few cheaters here and there from other countries, but every single Chinese IP that connected, would try to cheat. So like I said, I had to block the entire country of China from connecting to the Codelink V2 servers.
@Nakna_ankaN
@Nakna_ankaN 7 жыл бұрын
Thetechgenius You can connect to basically any VPN from virtually any country, so there is nothing keeping a chinese player from connecting through a VPN service that have servers in Europe or the US for example and if they do, how can you even tell that the player is located in china? Putting a ban on chinese VPN services would probably help with some of the cheating, but it wouldn't solve the problem and do nothing about the ping problem. With a ping limit you kill two birds with one stone or technically you don't solve the cheating, you just isolate the vast majority of cheaters to one region.
@IlDeimos
@IlDeimos 7 жыл бұрын
Nakna_ankaN Well, you would need to do a combination of things. 1) Such as implement a High Ping Kick feature on the servers, like Counter Strike servers. Even if Chinese people use a North American VPN thier Ping will be extremely high since they are still located in China. 2) Block the entire country of China from connecting to north American servers, along with all China VPN's. 3) They could also block ALL VPN's from the servers. So the player would have to connect to the server with thier real IP, then it would be easy to block them. Besides, most if not ALL VPN's throttle your internet connection in some way, which is the reason why most PC players in the U.S. don't use a VPN while playing PC games. Because they like to throttle your connection, and you usually get a very high ping when using a VPN anyway, because your data has to go to the VPN server first, then to your PC. It takes a lot longer to send and receive a ping. So Pings would be a lot higher when using a VPN anyway. That would stop the entire country of China from connecting to U.S servers. And it's VERY easy to do.
@Nakna_ankaN
@Nakna_ankaN 7 жыл бұрын
Thetechgenius I hear you, but what I'm trying to say is that with a ping limit a region lock would just be over redundant. It's simpler but has all of the same effects as the actions you suggest. As you say VPN services throttles your connection and gives you higher ping so if a Chinese player that already have high ping connects to a VPN server outside of china it will just make it higher. The problem is twofold. The first part is that when a lot of players connect to servers outside their own region it makes the game unstable because of their high ping. The second part is that a lot of players cheat. Most of the players that cause these problems are located in China, but the problem isn't that they are Chinese, so the solution isn't to lock an entire region out from the rest of the world. It's this kind of talk about singling them out by blocking the entire country that have some people seeing this as being xenophobic. A ping limit is just something they would implement for game stability reasons, it doesn't single any specific group of players out, but solves the problem with high ping descriptancies and have the added benefit for everyone outside of China to isolate the majority of cheaters to the Chinese servers. To single out the Chinese players and run the risk of some seeing this as a potential political or xenophobic action, is just unnecessary and to try to lock out all IP-ranges belonging to VPN services would be difficult, costly and is just over redundant if they implement a ping limit.
@IlDeimos
@IlDeimos 7 жыл бұрын
Nakna_ankaN Well the high ping limit wouldn't just be for China, it would be for anyone that has a high ping in-game that causes them to Lag. So it would work for both problems. Because some people do have high pings in the U.S. People with Strict NAT's usually have high pings too. I seen it many times in Counter Strike. I'm just saying, having a High Ping limit kick feature would be a good idea, with or without the China problem. I honestly don't see why they didn't include that feature on thier servers yet. Counter Strike servers had that feature since day one, and I'm talking about the Original Counter Strike, not CSGO. And honestly, if it was my game and my servers, I could care less what anyone thinks. If 99% of cheaters are located in China, then it's clear that if you block the entire country of China, you only have a VERY small number of cheaters to deal with. And you can IP ban those people, and if they connect with a VPN, they get kicked due to High Ping. When I manage my own dedicated servers, including web servers, I act only on facts and clear statistics. The facts don't lie, they can call me what they want, I don't act on emotion like those people do. Like I said, I act on clear Statistics and clear facts. If they don't like it, then who cares. It's clear that the majority of PUBG's player base want this to happen. But the creator of PUBG is to emotional, and let's his emotions cloud his judgment. And that will be his downfall.

Green loves the Chinese because it's more normalized to them to spend money on microtransactions, it's in their gaming culture that it's normal to spend a lot on a game you play (you see this a lot with mobile games and mmos), so imagine how much more he makes from them when they're over 50% of the player base compared to the west who generally despise microtransactions.

They seem to have upgraded the graphics significantly since then, since Rags' footage looks way better than the all-brown, no contrast shit that I was playing. But the mechanics are still shit. Beyond the ping/region limits, the one thing the game really needs is to slow down the exclusion zone. A round of the game should take 30 minutes to an hour. Slow the pace. If I want to play just another fast-paced piece of shit, I'd buy Call of Strike Warfare or whatever the latest clone of the hottest game made 10 years ago is called this go-round.

And guess who made Unreal engine 4 in the first place? Epic Games! For someone like myself, the potential of ping limits is really disheartening. I live in South Africa and thus the lowest ping that I am able to get is 180-240 on European servers. It is simply impossible based on my geographic location for me to get lower ping. High ping in this game is by no means an advantage, as this delay issue you deal with when coming across high ping players is consistently there for me. I understand the issue is different with the Chinese player base as they have their own servers and have somewhere to go, but for someone like myself, someone who can s peak English perfectly as my native tongue, I find the calls for ping limits unjust. There are many other South African players (that the devs won't provide servers for) as well as many players in other regions that do not access to low ping conditions. I'd just like everyone in the comments to remember this when they ask for limitations to be implemented. Thanks for reading and have a nice day everyone :)

I'd say they are just lazy; almost any programmer could implement a friendly fire system into a game with teams since the only thing you really need to know are whether you can kill team mates and what team people are on if you have FF disabled. its stats from anti cheat software which detected that 99% of all the cheats came from china... which means that 99% of cheaters come from china. I did the numbers roughly 1.3 million Chinese players have cheated and been banned. That's not counting team kills, and other ban-able offences. As said before most Chinese play in Cafe's and give zero shits about being banned because it's not their account. They play until they get a loot crate and then trade it over to their other account. Why? Because 1$ over there is an absolute crap top of money. Just like how 5$ USD can buy you almost a week's worth of food in Mexico. In China it's more like 2 weeks of food.

For the love of God, don't talk about economics and purchasing power in China when you have no idea what you're talking about. Well by definition china isn't third world but second world... but that doesn't have much to do with the economics of the country. The average yearly wage in china is 67569 yuan (around 10457.65) which is less than the average in america which is around $50000 or so. But I would need to still calculate the cost of living and such in china which I kinda don;t want to spend more time doing that... Overall I don't think the cheating has anything to do with earning money, its probably more related to PC Cafes and their views on cheating.

I think many of the playerbase from China are aware about the huge ping issue, and it's the very reason they switch. After all, it's an advantage that they can't be directly called out for. It's not like they have cheat Engine open, but its not far off.

So how important is a constant framerate? Look at all of the CS:GO players running insane setups to hit a minimum of 144Hz or above. Pubg? Go buy a $600 graphics card, enjoy the buttery smooth drops to under 40fps. I mean, how long did it take them to fix the inventory lag issue? They can't handle the beast they've created, and pretty soon it's all gonna fall apart.
@empiregeof
@empiregeof 7 жыл бұрын
You dont need an insane set up to hit 144 fps on cs go, my 2600k and 970 was well above the 200 constant. Pubg is still in early acces and isnt properly optimized yet. With a i7 7700k and 1070ti I'm around 80-90 fps, no drops. What the fuck are you talking about?

You can have higher pings in an RTS than an FPS without noticing it since RTS games use a lock-step networking system that accounts for ping and will do things on the back end that help neutralize its affects.

Bullshit. Two players making 0-second in-mind decisions based on what the other player is doing but are only being shown what 5 seconds late isn't going to be fixed by a server-to-client (not client-to-server-to-client). Lockstep doesn't magically remove lag when you've got two people at large distance playing against each other. If that _were_ the case (it's not) there'd be no reason to host important tournaments in a lan environment, as the network latency would be so goddamn low you could see and react within

I've never played PUBG, as I'm not a big Battle royal fan. But commonsense would tell you that ping issues are a serious problem in an online FPS. I take it that Mister Greene is a gamer, so the only reasonable explanations are that he has an ulterior motive, or he just couldn't give a fuck less about his fan base.

Probably. As money corrupts everyone. I mean I can't say much, but if PUBG has sold 30 million copies at 30 dollars a pop, that's roughly 900 million dollars. I'm not sure about the finer details of this, but he is at least a multi hundred millionaire. Going from average to "elite rich" like that would change anyone. Or maybe he thinks the gaming community views him how politically obsessed people view Ben Shapiro. I'm not throwing insults, I love Ben, but politics are overall irreverent to me. But this is all an assumption, he may just be an absolute dick by nature.

Objective Apples Traditionally Eastern society has had a history of being about as xenophobic as you can be. Even within the Asian communities there's opinionated 'cliques' that view themselves as better than other people from other Asian countries. I'm by no means an expert, but I did date an Asian girl for a little over four years, and in the multiple times we visited her home country and the surrounding ones there were distinct behaviors I picked up on.

Dice EA have been doing this same thing with Battlefield and getting away with it for years. They allow whatever connection, no matter how poor to connect to wherever they want on the planet. Instead of doing proper matchmaking, network monitoring, or providing server support to regions where they sell their game Dice EA just let laggers from across the globe ruin the online game play. It's a deplorable practice. I quit playing PUBG shortly after the launch for the exact reasons you listed in this video. Haven't been back. I just have to say you are my new favorite KZbinr. PUBG's company pretty much did every single bad move any game company has made: -Paid Early Access. -Paid crates/microtransactions. -In-game ads. (Seriously, who the hell thinks this is even remotely a good idea?) -Abusive use of beta, dispite the game being more than enough to be considered a full-fledgded game(I'm looking at you, Warframe.) -Idiotic use of banning. -Arrogant and self-obsessive behavior and bad attitude towards other devs who want to make money off of the Battle Royale genre. Seriously, Player Unknown? You don't own the Battle Royale genre, and Fortnite has plenty of different features that make it unique and not a ripoff of your game, such as the art style, building mechanics, as well as a co-op mode that features endless horde combat. With that being said. I'm glad you made this video, Rags. I'll stick with Fortnite until the devs of PUBG decide to start being a good company.

Rags, your channel is awesome and your opinion is based, it's good to hear someone who haven't slid to one of extremes yet. That said, the way you handed rejection from artist you haven't even pay was a total shitshow. No one owes you free art, and no one is obligated to make a freelance work for someone they don't like. Your comparsion of that refusal to that time with Catholic baker was very strange - as a bisexual you should know that sexuality is involuntary and unchangeable, whereas ideology isn't. That remark made you sound like a typical demagogue who wants everyone to think gay agenda is real. WTF? And while we're at it: what's up with your "furry status unconfirmed" thing? You've got a cartoon dog on avatar, you have an account on FA where you commission art from furry artists, you have furry pals - all the while refusing to associate with them and call yourself what you really are. What's the point? If you dislike furries and think they are below you, why are you hanging around them? Isn't it disingenous at best? And if it's a virtue signaling for your watchers - "see, I'm not one of them furfag SJWs" - is that even worthy for you to make a content for a crowd you know won't take you as you are? Wouldn't it be better to dump the idiots and move on to something better? Again, your channel is great so far and I see you're a good fellow, but be aware that the one who fights monsters is at risk of becoming a monster himself. Please make sure you stay sane and not turn into yet another SJW antipode because you show signs of that as of late.

Рысец Обыкновенный he just doesn't go out of his way to identify as a furry. Someone made a comment on why he "refuses" (he has never tried to disassociate or associate himself directly with furry fandoms) and he replied that he just doesn't bother to spread the word. That being said, I agree he handled the commission incident poorly. Being rejected hurts but anyone who works for themselves (I.e. artists) have the right to refuse service to anyone, even if the refusal is based on their gender, sexuality or identity.

Sark Aztik - Well, a lot of furry KZbinrs do that, as in they are so very obviously furry yet they never mention it, talk about it, respond when you ask about it etc. I would say it would be bad to deny obvious association with the fandom, but simply failing to acknowledge it isn't really that bad when you consider the bad rep. furries get and also the fact that he seems to be into feral furry art, which gets the most flak.

Actually, fortnight and PUBG have about the same serverside update rate. Fortnite has better performance because the people who made Fortnite ALSO make the engine the game runs on and thus have more experience in optimising the game. This can be seen when PUBG did the simple act of updating the game's engine to the latest version - there was a universal performance improment
