Russia sees it the same way - giving US and NATO concessions only led to NATO expansion and threats to Russia. Russia has decided to check NATO. It has defeated NATO. Get it ? You are free to fight till you are extinct.

Remember NATO has openly said they want to strategically defeat Russia, surely do you expect Russia to fold arms, smile and look on the other side? It's stupid isn't it? Ukraine chose to gang up with US to threaten Russia, now that it has lost, it has to give up territory. That is war settlement.

The issue is not the territory. But what do you know ? First you need to take a step back and define which Ukranians want Nato membership and which ones wants Russian protection. The West propaganda of framing only West Ukraine as Ukraine is the issue. The problem was always NATO forcibly extension to Ukraine and Georgia

@@stephenhill545 please try to read and understand as opposed to exposing ignorance here. Do a little bit of research, that's all it takes. NATO expansion to the borders of Russia has been and will always be a red line for Russia. Russia didn't and does not want additional land, it has the biggest land mass in the world. But remember, I for every stupidity there's a price . Read the 2022 Istanbul peace plan, there was no mention of ceding of Ukrainian territory to Russia. When they were told to reject the peace plan, and when Russia has invested so much in it, especially with the lives of it soldiers, it inevitable that Russia should walk away with some token from the battlefront in form of land.
