Really cool on the "home gym" you've got! On a similar note... I've been in a wheelchair since 2010 when I lost my right leg and my left knee is shot. Also every single prosthetic that was made for me I would walk right out of. So basically, being in this chair I swelled up to 315lbs & I'm only 5 '6". Well, my wife of 25 years passed in Feb of 2021 and since then I've lost down to 228lbs without doing anything other than changing what & how much I eat. I haven't been dwelling on it or stressing about it and I believe that plays a part in it as well as anything else contributing to me losing. Thanks for all you do for us & God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼👊🏼

@@grooveguy Thanks so very much! I could literally write a novel on the shit I've been through just over the past 20 years. Aside from losing my wife, I've lost my son, both parents and both my mother and father in-law. Not to mention that I've been on dialysis for almost 21 years now. The only other option I have is to give up and I don't get down like that. I was a lineman with my local power company and it just ain't in my blood to just roll over and take whatever I'm dealt as a reason to quit! 💙👊🏼💪🏼

I've been paralyzed below the chest since 2006, along with my right arm only having having about half of my ability back. I'm also 5'6"and weighed around 175 lbs at the time I was paralyzed. After spending 2 months in the hospital and rehab, I moved into my grandparents' house. My patents lived next door so my mother brought me a big plate of food 3 times a day. I got up around 200 lbs b4 I took some serious steps to stop the weight gain. I for back down to 150lbs. But wouldn't recommend anyone try losing it the way I done. I had bad infection twice, and almost died. 🙂 I was always a very active so this was a big change. Like you I refused to let it hold me back. Unfortunately I've messed up my my spine even worse than before. Now I've got a curvature in the spine. I'm trying to take a little better care of myself. 🙂

Whatever you're doing is good content, I watch it all! I actually think you did a good job on the closet. I took 2 building construction classes in college and we went around looking at houses being built and it's alarming the amount of mistakes and cover ups that professional framers make. There is one particular builder in my area that builds 2000-5000 sq ft homes entirely out of glued finger jointed wall studs. Its basically scrap 2X4's glued and jointed together to make a board. Same for load bearing beams, its scary what they get away with.

I've done some framing work on basements... And leaving in the sill plate for the door is the best way to frame in the wall. It doesn't hurt to add a little Liquid Nails to the bottom of the PT sill plate either. * As for why PT is a different dimension than the regular pine studs... It's because the PT wood is super wet (30+% saturation) and the studs are (8-15%). The PT will shrink as it drys out. * Also, when making a closet like that... Sometimes it's easier to just use metal studs. If you make a mistake in your stud spacing... You only need to remove 4 screws. But the best part is the wall will be flat! *You still use wood to frame in the door.😂

PT lumber is wider b/c its wet... It will shrink to approx. the same width as KD (Kiln Dried) lumber in a few months/years... It can be super fun to deal with at times due to the fact that some of it comes off the pallet that feels like it was stored at the bottom of a lake for a year. I tend to store about 5-10 2x4s and 2x6s in my lumber rack to dry it out for 6-8 months for random projects around the "estate" .. But be careful of how you store it or it becomes a banana cork screw. Screwing it together very solidly when wet tends to mitigate the "shrinkage' but it is what it is material wise.

I can really relate. When I was your age there was no KZbin. So I bought a VHS tape on how to frame. I made plenty of mistakes.

You're doing good. You know the difference between a good carpenter and a bad one? A good one knows how to hide his mistakes.

Your a good carpenter, but I would save the wood for that little closet and just setup some of those shelves or buy some nicer ones since it's in sight of customers! But people cover windows with shelves All the time and that way if need be the window can be opened for a fast exit!! Your a FANTASTIC man ❤
