@@babetravelling if you rented the whole van then thats really awful. If its shared with others then its our norm. They pick everybody from different hotels and often takes 10-20 mins to travel between them sometimes its worse if someones not actually ready to go yet and van drivers cant leave them behind (I think they really should).

Another factor was ‘cos you were seating at the back which makes the experience more bumpy. What I’m gonna say is not an excuse but van operators doing Puerto to El Nido and vice versa are paying *high* fees (terminal, driver wages, association fees, government permits, etc) to continue driving the route, and that means doing 2-3 trips per day. That would require cutting your trips shorter from the usual 6 hours to 4.5 to 5 hrs just to drive back to Puerto for another paid trip, hence, the roller coaster experience. Not safe but I guess they have very limited options. Once you go back, try sitting at the back of the driver to lessen that impact. Friendly advice from someone who chose to settle here in El Nido 😉
