My family uses wapa to show excitement. Like when someone scores in a basketball game they’ll be like “weeeeepppaaaaaa!” I’ve never herd it as hello

Go to school to learn proper Spanish only to find out my Puerto Rican family does not speak proper Spanish. This was a huge help. Brutal!

In another Latin American countries, "ligar" means mostly to flirt. In Puerto Rico, "ligar" is a very serious deal. It means "to peep".

In philippines brutal means violent horrible Leche means annoying Duro means ponting something Pari means priest

No usamos ahorita decimos "horita" para después. Y la palabra duro como cuando alguien es bueno en algo, no se sí es dependiendo el pueblo pero de dónde soy decimos por ejemplo "él es un duro bailando" o tú estás duro refiriéndonos que la persona tiene buen cuerpo, pero no se ve bien decírselo a cualquiera pues podría ser una falta respeto. La frase que es la que ? Desde pequeña siempre dije Que es la que la que? En forma saludo y queriendo preguntar " Que hay? O Que cuentas? Hay muchas muchas más expresiones en mi Borinquen preciosa 💕 mis favoritas son las abreviadas del inglés haciendo spanglish 😄💓.

7:16 this is super old slang, mostly used in the 1980-90 no one really says this unless it is and elderly. 7:33 se lo llevo el pateco is no longer used this is super old slang as well.

4:42 pari isnt necessarily a puerto rican word it was taken from the word party not only boriquas use this because it isnt only boriqua slang but spanglish in general.

2:13 Leche is milk either way Boriquas don't say que leche, they say que afortunando. Trust me my first languge was spanish, and i was raised for my first five years in Puerto Rico.
