In playa Bonita you can see the coral reef that was eventually lifted by a huge earthquake we had in the 90s a 7.0 the Caribbean coast was lifted about 2 meters. I lived in San Jose and the walls of my concrete house moved from side to side and i saw the floor move in small waves, it felt like being on a surfboard on the water, then the damages were mostly in limon. Train tracks were bent like butter. Well then in playa Bonita just a few kilometers north of limon you can really see or tell how the ground was uplifted.

It must have been terrible experience...I did not have chance to go to playa Bonita but I may go there and see everything on my next trip to Costa Rica. Thanks for sharing these with me. Pura Vida.
