So, about the Tails, around 1:10:00, its not that it held them back physically from getting Super Sayian, but Mentally. The Sayains used their tails to go great ape, so they didn't push themselves to get better than they were, and they didnt get strong enough to unlock SSJ. The S-Cell stuff is mainly for hybrids and Universe 6 Sayians. Loosing the tail doesnt increase S-Cells, you just have more if you were born without one.

Yea the lack of training from the old Saiyans held them back from evolving, and Goten/Trunks got Super Saiyans as kids due to the amount of S cells Goku and Vegeta had at the time of their birth

Its even been shown that having a tail helps a saiyan with their transformations. When goku was shrunk to a kid he couldn't maintain SSJ1, but as soon as his tail grew back he could easily use and remain in SSJ3. The tail actually helps stabilize their transformations, which has lead me to believe that had goku kept his tail he could have stayed in his forms the many times he was hit so hard it stopped.

The timing that this game came out couldn't be greater... kind of. I just started becoming a Dragon Ball fan in Feb of this year and I'm so in love with the anime. I've fully watched Dragon Ball OG series and Z as well and I need to get my hands on Super next so if you play a story I'm not familiar with I may need to click off. As a nintendo switch owner, it's a shame this game can never come out on it but I'll have fun watching you, a goated youtuber, play this.💙💙💙 Also this is my first time viewing a Dragon Ball game too but it's so cool that there are what if scenarios that decide how differently the story can be affected after fully understanding it in the TV series.

them having tails is what lets them go great ape, & since most dont survive that form as shown in canon dragon ball, the only way to survive is cutting off their tail, since they were stronger than most other weaker races, they never got to experience almost dying & surviving to become stronger

I like how they added what if scenarios to the story mode. That was a nice touch. I wish they did this with the new ninja storm game but that was a trash heap money grab. Sparking Zero is too epic they really cooked with this. I just wish Bandai Namco gave the ninja storm series this same love
