I like how this What-If goes to a lot of deep cuts through Trunks's lore. For instance, Vegeta and he didn't have the best relationship so seeing them fighting togother shows their growth. Addtionally, fighting beside the androids is difficult for Trunks due to his past with them so he learns to overcome his trauma and work together with them for the sake of his universe

The possibility option of Future Trunks participating in the Tournament of Power was indeed a topic many fans had. I think the reason people thought it would be hard for him to participate in it (besides the obvious of him being there might incur the wrath of the gods as Trunks is a time traveller) but as well as Trunks' main/signature finishing attacks are mostly Sword-Based & the tournament doesn't allow for weapon-usage

Fr, people forget that “demon” isn’t a race thing, demon clan members have their own arts and abilities. King Piccolo stopped anyone he killed from going to otherworld by virtue of his demon status. Piccolo lost that part of it as he became less evil, but he still packs the fighting style.

I like the dynamic between 17 and Trunks. To me theyre both very similar. Have cool, more casual dressing style. Both are serious af in battle and like to finish their opponents quick. I've always speculated that while the ToP fight won't be significantly easier with Trunks, it'll be much more efficient considering how Trunks handled previous threats. Also, regardless of how he view the Androids, he'll at least approve 17 for blasting the Universe 2 Maidens during their transformation

This What If Scenario is Awesome, what's Ironic about the TOP Saga is that it takes place in Age 780, which is the exact same Date where Future Gohan fought and died against the Evil Androids 17 & 18 in the Future Timeline, This makes it literally all Full Circle, with Future Trunks fighting and killing the Androids in the Future Timeline of destroying the Earth, now Future Trunks is allying and teaming up with the Androids in the Main Timeline to protect the Earth and Universe 7.

I can't believe how much better this was compared to the anime. The stakes felt higher, the emotional side and Trunks feeling no joy for winning at the expense of the other universes, even Jiren's backstory and motivations, which are cliché as can be, felt a lot stronger and resonated better because of Future Trunks's presence. Future Trunks's Hero's Journey was done a lot better in the game.

(I just finished Trunks' and goku's story) So far, the ONLY complaint I have so far is wishing Sparking Zero would've had given characters what-if transformations. I would've freaked the hell out if trunks had gotten super saiyan 3 during the t.o.p. cause he and gohan are the only saiyans who didn't get a new transformation or power like the rest. As for goku's what-if, Im satisfied. Seeing early ssj goku was cool. And early ssj vegeta? AWESOME. It's rough there wasn't more like that later down the road, just the z-fighters winning. Goku vs the androids was cool though. That was along the lines of what I thought would happen. But like I said, i only hoped for what-if characters. Praying the dlc will add tiencha, cell/frieza fusion, super buu what if absorptions, etc. ONLY L so far is not seeing a ssj3 trunks or new from him during the T.O.P.

For everyone having issues, try timing how fast you can beat Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan. It took me dozens of attempts to get my time under 1:40 but that’s when I got through to the alternate mission. I would aim for 1 minute 35 seconds.

People who are having trouble getting past the fight against Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan. If you are using a PC, increase the graphics to the maximum and play the game in slow motion. It works.

Even if it would've led to half of the team being Saiyans, I think Future Trunks being in the Tournament of Power would've been a good addition. Between Gohan, Vegeta, Frieza, and the Androids, he has a unique history with more than half of the team's roster and the Future Omni-King. And while I do like Tien, considering how poorly he was treated by the writers in both in the anime AND the manga, it probably would've been better if he had been removed in exchange for Trunks.
