Mia is one of my favorite final girls ever. Even with her addiction struggles, she was maybe the only one with some sense from the start, and she fought HARD in the end. This movie was just unrelenting terror and adrenaline for the entire runtime but what an experience it is.

I saw this at an early screening, and the theater was so fun. Just full of people losing their minds and loving it, and then the post-credit sent everyone over the edge.

Mia and Dr Duct-tape were supposed to be children of Ash. The mom went crazy when Ash got sucked through a portal AGAIN and she lost her mind! The kids just assumed he had died or left! But the intro of the movie had me HOOKED! 👍🏾👍🏾✌🏾

I love this movie so much. I have been watching horror movies with my mom since I was 5/6 years old and this in the first one to actually scare me as an adult. It’s absolutely terrifying, and the gore is so perfectly placed. A lot of people whine about how there’s no humor here. I disagree. Not every horror movie has to balance out the terror with humor. Kudos, Pug. Another great piece of art from you. Enjoy your lunch. If you can.

There were plans to do a sequel to Army Of Darkness, then a sequel to the reboot and then an Ash/Mia crossover, but the reboot didnt do well because a lot of the OG trilogy fans didnt like that it didnt have the campiness of the trilogy as well as the fact that people had gotten tired of remakes after the abysmal Nightmare On Elm Street remake

Loved your reaction to this. I remember dreading the release of this movie. I didn't think it would work at all. But once I saw it, I was very pleasantly surprised. I think it's fantastic and a great addition to the series. Brutal, intense, relentless.

This is my favorite Evil Dead film (Haven't seen Rise) I love how this is a remake but it doesn't just remake the original or the 2 sequels, it tells a somewhat new story while also taking things from the original movies. And the gore for this film is fantastic and is scary. The director said this film, could serve as a sequel, a prequel or a remake of the original movies. What I think this movie does better than the original movies is that this takes a darker turn, with drug addiction, that scary ass birthday monster shit, and that tree sequence is so much and I weirdly love it. I also liked how despite the final girl dying, she is resurrected and I really liked her relationship with her brother and the others.

So this is apparently not a reboot but a soft reboot which was ahead of its time actually. It plays out similar events but according to the director, it is actually another story in the same universe as The Evil Dead 1-3 with the book in this one being another Necronomicon. This ended up being the route of the future of the franchise I suppose since Evil Dead Rise is similar when it comes to its canonicity.

I must have been super traumatized from this movie because I don't remember a single thing except the blood rain bit and the opening scene.
