me & my cousin(master vw mechanic)use to do vr6 swaps into mk2 gti's 20 years ago when it was rare, and we never had a engine hoist we used dolly carts, dropped the engine& tranny on the cart & push em out

That’s awesome man I’m glad it’s finally under way! Do you plan on cleaning up the engine bay like tuck it or anything? I know you said you’ll have to get a harness to make it work and I was wondering if you were going with a shaved bay or not. Either way I can’t wait to see the v5 in there instead of that headache of a motor lol good luck with it, can’t wait for the install videos.

Brandon Eberlin yeah currently I plan on the engine bay being pretty much the same as how I did the partial shave bay in my Jetta. Gonna relocate a few things, shave off brackets and tabs, and paint everything

Honestly I’m not exactly sure I know my power steering lines worked fine from the 2.0 to the Vr6 so I’ll have to see how the power steering pump on the v5 connects but I think it’ll work hopefully haha

DRD content that was due to my shift linkage not being aligned properly. Once I adjusted it correctly the problem went away 👍🏼
