I really like all the Pulsar plugins and use them all. This one is great, used it on 2 remasters in the past two weeks. Amazing that it is free

i used it on acoustic guitar setting using an electric guitar and it sounded nice, pre-dirty up

I subscribe to Whytse’s pateron and he did a shootout with his hardware. At first impression its close, but after kind of adjusting my ears- I could easily pick it out in a blind test. The hardware has more bottom end extension and definition, the top end was more open as well. It also seemed louder, but it was level matched so it had something to do with the saturation or maybe the older capacitors. The HW sounds seriously good- this is a great emulation too, we’re just limited by where digital tech is right now in terms of HOW close we can get…its not easy

I would also add that the power supplies to these old modules makes a difference to how they sound…and of course old components vary hugely in their performance. I’d guess that adjusting input levels might be the answer…👍

I hate to say it but the free TDR VOS Slick EQ still outperforms the Pulsar W495. I challenge you to test it for yourself and draw your own conclusions! It's slightly more versatile based on additional features and has several harmonic profiles.

I love the TDR stuff...I use Slick EQ and NOVA a lot...but it's not the same. This has m/s selectable on each band....that's next level, especially combined with the very well modelled harmonics. 👍

He likes hardware knobs, but for software he likes intuitive and informative GUIs that were designed for use with a mouse.

This would be my on every single mix bus..... If I wasnt already using Nebula Sontac./ API 550 and GML EQ (Surge) If you guys want some Hardware EQs...that will will work on ALL Buses.... get those three Alex B API 550 A Alex B Surge Alex B Sontac those three Programs for Nebula (Acustica Aduio N4 Player Commercial $300) its so so worith it I think all together it would $450 for the N4 Player Commercial and the three EQs But....its basically $20,000 worth of Analog EQs Live analog Sampled in your DAW for Under $500, Can't beat it!!!!
