thanks for actually letting us *hear what these units do* rather than droning on about them for 20+ min. and never actually getting around to how they sound. 'cause that's what we want to find out.

The 500x definitely sounds punchier, tighter lows, and more crystal clear highs imo. It makes sense considering it's based on the solid state version of a pultec. The EQP1A just has a special "bloom" and depth to it haha. I feel like it has a wider stereo image and is a bit slower in transient response probably due to it being a tube design. I'd say if someone was trying to use the 500x as a cheaper alternative to the EQP1A, they will probably be disappointed. But if someone has been wanting the solid state version of a pultec or just wants a high quality EQ in 500 series, the 500x is it! I think it sounds amazing! Great comparison vid man!

For sure, thanks for watching. I was really surprised at how much I liked the 500 series version. At first I thought it was going to be novel or whatever but it’s built well and I should have had higher expiations coming from the same company. Def recommend it but I agree it’s hard to beat the OG

Dude, thanks for all of these videos---Just an FYI-everything you upload is 720p. I'm not sure if a lower video resolution effects audio but it's possible. .just a friendly heads up.

Weird, I figured it would automatically be HD? Hmmm I’ll look into, honestly never noticed that. - looked into it a bit, doesn’t look like video quality changes the audio quality. Doesn’t sound any different to my ears either on my system. Thanks for the heads up, still wondering why it’s only uploading in 720.

Nice Love this comparison video! Is this EQP1A modern or original one? Looking forward to checking out 176 vs 175 :)

Thanks for watching. It’s a modern one by pulse techniques. There’s a lot of nice info on them online and how they were tirelessly dedicated to recreating it properly over a 10 year span.

would you rather have 2 of the EQP1A'S or a Chandler Curve Bender
@maxbauhof Жыл бұрын
Hmm that’s a good question, hah. I think I’d rather have the curve bender.

Hi Max, is it really worth get the EQP500X? Can it hold it down with the real thing? Thx
@maxbauhof2 жыл бұрын
The 500x is sweet! Can always try it out and return it if it doesn’t do it for you. But if you feel like you will never scratch the itch then I’d say get the eqp1a!

Can you the tube tech version of the pultec
@michaeltwiz84773 жыл бұрын
Don't know is the EQP1A is worth $4000 plus man!!!

Guess you gotta figure it took them 10 years to design and people with vintage ones vouch it’s the real deal. So if your not gonna buy a vintage one but want to get as close as possible 🤷♂️
