Great video, very detailed. Mine have a different problem: from the moment I turn it on and specially while it's pouring expresso, water leaks from the steaming wand. It brews expresso just fine, so I just put a glass below it to collect the water, but I wonder which part could be faulty. The closest technical maintenance station is on another continent so I'll have to fix it myself :/

I changed both in my machine but the question is how can I know that which one have to be changed maybe the pump is still good but the valve is bad so how can I recognise where is the problem exactly instead of changing both of them?thank you.

I have to press down hard on the reservoir to stop it making that loud buzzing noise and start pumping. Is this a pump issue or something else? thanks

Hi. I was wondering if you can help me with what’s wrong with my machine. I go to steam and the steam comes out the group head and not the steam wand. The water goes to the tube on the left of the connector but doesn’t go up the tube on the right of the connector that leads to the steaming function. I can tell by how hot each tube is when I touch it. It stopped working after I was practicing latte art. I thought it might be because it was overheating since the machine was hot, so I took a break to try again at night to see if the steamer works. The steamer did not work again

I think you forgot to explain how to deal with that red hose on the other side

It would also be good to know where to find a replacement for the one-time-use pex crimp clamps [1:04] which is approx. 3/8" inch. Once you remove these hose clamps, you will spend the next 3 days driving to dozens of hardware and automotive stores trying to find something similar.

They're called crimp clamps, available on Amazon

@@aaronstestlab -- Thanks for the info. I only really need a few though, not a packet of 50 pieces. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate if you could verify the size used on the EC 685. Would it be 3/8" or 5/8" or something else? To the best of my knowledge, the tube itself has an ID of 5mm and OD of 9mm. Thanks

@@aaronstestlab What size crimp clamp, or spring clamp?

HI Aaron, is it possible that the machine is chocking because we use too finely grind coffee?
@aaronstestlab8 ай бұрын
Anything's possible, but, provided proper dosing, it's more likely the OPV is releasing at a low pressure and not allowing water to flow through the puck.

Hi, thanks for the vid. What is the metal ring that you removed in order to unplug the red pipe ? I don't know what's it called and I will need to get a replacement.

It's called an ear hose clamp. But they require a special tool for setting. So I just replaced with a spring clamp.
