How are the stitches locked in?

@@kathykelley379 once it's complete, you can keep it on the hoop, cut the excess fabric, hot glue it down to th back and attach felt to the back of your design. The stitches will be locked in!

@@othcrochetnookthat is my question also. Because as I started the 2nd line of stitches they seemed to all pull /pop back out as I pull towards punching the next hole. I bought the wood handle puncher that loops&Thread offers. That’s the same company that made the kit. Maybe it’s too big? I thought of purchasing the one you linked but I’m not quite sure what notches are for on the side? Which would I choose if I’m doing punch needling? I’m new to this and really need help. I’m basically learning from this very tutorial so thank you so very much! ❤😊

@@jomoland you may have a larger sized punch needle. There are pretty much 2 common sizes. Try to stay close when punching but not so close you are unraveling the previous row. Let me know if you need any more help!

At the back? I would weave them in or knot them. I usually finish the back of my projects with felt so none of that is ever seen.

@ravenotis652 you possibly don't have enough slack on the feeding yarn. Having too much tension the yarn makes it easy for the yarn to pull out. Another key is to have the fabric tightly placed in the hoop (3:11-3:18). At 4:01-4:11, she doesn't seem to push the needle in all the way down to the blue plastic part of the needle, but you should. She may be more experienced which might be why her's doesn't unravel, but with less experience, it may be more difficult to keep the yarn in. Also, if you have the same kit as her, the fabric can be reverted back to the way it was before you punched through it if you gently scrape away at the fabric with your nail or the needle, and you can start over.

Hi. This may sound....well odd but can someone that's never done this before use this to make a cute little panda? At the risk of oversharing I've lost 170 lbs, have realized that I ate when I was sad, angry, needed to be comforted or was hurting. In the last 2 years I've had 2 friends and an aunt pass away. There are some other things I'm dealing with. I refuse to go back to eating unhealthy amounts of food. So I've decided to lean into anything creative and exercise (I also have a therapist who's great). I'll be honest in that I thought punch needle was when you take yarn or material in one hand and lightly dab at it with a tool that makes a little stuffed animal. I don't know what that's called but I have seen a brief KZbin video of it. Maybe I'll just buy a kit to get started. I like learning new things.

Wow, congrats on the weight loss and all, but I came here for craft tips with punch needling not the ‘This Is Us’ season finale. Maybe grab a kit and a filter, so we can all learn punch needling without detouring through your life’s memoirs!

Felting is a textile art that would be easy to learn & ideal for making your wee Panda & other lovely wee things & you can order kits online. You can do it! All the best! X

Leuk maar je kunt de lussen even groot krijgen als je de naald tot het einde in de stof steekt. Daarom kun je dit ook instellen op de naald. Persoonlijk vind ik deze tutorial niet de allerbeste op KZbin. Maar ach... wie ben ik.
