People criticizing misunderstood the point of opening traps. You are not supposed to repeat traps in your games if you want to learn. Memorizing traps are for culture and building intuition. It's important to know them so you can guess when you have to strike early and when you have to be patient. What do you get from reproducing a trap ? The 1st and 2nd time it helps memorizinh them, but else nothing more than rating points without even thinking, and time lost for playing a game without improving anything. This is why these fun videos are useful, but not for the reason you would think of.

The best move for white is knight to E2 it blocks Check and is protected by the queen and bishop next white needs to play knight C3 attacking the queen. If I start with E4 my next move is always knight F3 if they attack with queens pawn well I either go pawn e4 then knight F3 or queens pawn d3.

Everyone says that the Queen usually goes back to d1 in their games, but I usually play Qa4 and attack the center because the knight is pinned if they try to counter with the d pawn. I’m only 1300, so I want to know if there’s some reason not to do this (other than exposing the queen early is inherently bad)

At Nc6, you can just move Qc3, now any move the knight does forward will lead to a knight take, regaining the tempo and almost forcing Qf6. As white, let the queen trade happen on your side by deploying Nf6, then Bb5 almost forces a6->Bc6. If black takes the bait to attack the bishop, Nd2 is defending. If not, Bg5 prevents castling and pins the pawn to the second horse. Now we have a fun game. :)
@michaelrobinson2687
@michaelrobinson2687 4 ай бұрын
But B b4 ! pins White's Queen to their King. And White can't take the Bishop because it's protected by the Knight on c6. Not so fun for White now is it? That is why you don't play Q c3 in that situation.
@wertigon
@wertigon 4 ай бұрын
@@michaelrobinson2687 In that case pin horse G5. You lose a queen but develop a queen side castle, free a tower and yeah, game is not lost but is sure a heck of a lot harder now. If you are going to lose the Queen either way, do it early.

The actual way people play e4, d4 as white most commonly though would be something like a scotch with the follow up of Nf3 or a hyper aggressive Danish with c3 being played next nobody over like 1200-1300 plays this opening with Qxd4

I would send queen back to spawn, push out the knight to def pawn, use bishop to cover the knight use other knight as development, use bishop in center castle and done. You just won a pawn. Any other move would lead to a losing position very likely. How do I know? I tested many early game possibilities against 3200 chess bot and I also found out queen's gambit is one of the strongest starts. If you play it right up until 30 moves in many moves feel almost like book moves.

This line I always Play takes pawn , queen takes back and then I offer a queen trade on f6!--they push the pawn threatening my queen and I move it tob6 and they take the queen and I take with the a pawn and they go bishop to c4! And I push queens pawn up to threatening the bishop and they take because it's a free pawn but then the rook comes up winning back the pawn with check threat.and then other funny things happen and it turns into a tactical draw style endgame where both sides have to play extremely sharp if they want a win
