Made of Grit is a short film about Appalachian Trail thru-hikers.
We heard stories from over 30 hikers just before they summited Mt. Katahdin, marking the end of their adventures.
Hopefully this documentary conveys their passion and GRIT. And gets someone out there a little inspired to pursue something they're passionate about 💪.
Thanks to all of the thru-hikers who were a part of this.
Hike on!

This is an outstanding Doc. I'm a trail angel and watching your video I saw several hikers that I fed along the way on their journey. My last meals were prepared in the hundred mile wilderness and at Abol Bridge. The feelings of the hikers at this point are varied and you captured the emotion so well. I sat with many of them and heard their stories and you presented the wide range of feelings. Thank you! Safe Trails Sir Stops Alot / Stops Trailside Cafe

Chills man, chills…and holy schnikes, I’m section backpacking the Long Trail, & I ran into CRAZY STICKS last year on trail, we shot the shit for like 20mins, seemed like a lifetime, you get to know someone so fast on trail it seems…I write down the names of people I met etc. & always think I’ll never see them again, or what are they doing now. When I saw him I cheered out loud, he did it…man this just made me so damn happy… Jiffy🤙

Completed the AT in one day shy of 8 months. If I did it again, I'd try for longer. :) I do remember one time up far north that I was sitting around with some other hikers. I caught myself thinking, those people are bad ass, they've hiked all that way. And then I thought... oh... I've hiked that whole way too... Sometimes it's hard to give yourself credit even when it's due.
