I was determined to nurse my own baby when I found out I was pregnant. A few weeks later, we found out we were expecting twins. I was still determined to nurse. Similar to the puppies, I found that nursing one at a time left me with no time to sleep the first several months. So I put pillows on both sides of me and propped them up so I could nurse them at the same time. That was a life saver. Watching her set up the fleece feeding system was so impressive. And bless her heart- all of those baths as they were learning to heat gruel and soft food! She is a real hero!

Oh there's a huge difference.....they grow up in months and love you whereas human babies are eating, pooping, screaming, bank draining creatures that take decades to grow up & then hate you

OMG, Kathryn's homemade bottle-feeding device is absolutely brilliant! I wish I knew of that idea when I was caring for my fur babies every 2 hrs for several nights, until they were finally strong enough to be able to feed independently on their own.

Remember how much hard work my mom and sister put into caring for two puppies that were orphaned at two weeks old. They didn’t end up fostering after that again though because my sister ended up keeping one of the puppies and it wasn’t the first time that an animal intended just to foster became a family member.

You are magnificent…thank you for doing what few can do. I love all animals and helped my mother for years rehabilitating birds, squirrels, ducks, butterflies, and even a praying mantis. Whenever we had a loss, I was very sad. So.. now I love and care for my wonderful rescue pup, Murphy, feed the wild birds and rabbits and keep my opossums and foxes safe, well fed and free from mange(foxes). What you do is so special and loving. I really admire you .

A friend raised a litter of orphaned kittens, and the difficulty for her was not sleeplessness and feeding them around the clock, it was cleaning their little bottoms. A mother cat does this by licking, but my friend had to wash them. They developed terrible "diaper rash," except that no diapers were involved. She tried a number of products to help the rash, and none worked until she stumbled upon nipple cream that nursing mothers use. That worked. She was able to save the entire litter.
