Socialization with other dogs often means that our puppy should have lots of positive experiences, but there will be times where your puppy is startled or even spooked by another dog: at the vet's office or on a walk, it's very possible a dog will do some barking at you and your pup!
We are working with the puppy crew with engagement through movement, simple obedience commands, and lots of food reinforcement/chasing to let our puppies experience some "big barks" while keeping their confidence up!
It's common for puppies to experience this and be concerned or even nervous - before we started filming, Nash and Bun-Bun worked much farther down the sidewalk because the barks had them a little worried - always give your puppy space if they need it!
Chaka was initially a little like "what the heck?" and would do some staring at Koda -unsure, but I quickly engaged him with our training patterns and he recovered quickly! Resilience from startle is something we should all be encouraging in our puppies :) And then of course...PLAY! :)
