How do you get Pass interference on a ball Paul Bunyan couldn't have reached? Uncatchable. Reffing seemed pretty suspect at the end there
@bazookajoe61332 жыл бұрын
The defensive player blocked his route without looking back at the ball. Doesn't matter if it was uncatchable, that penalty will be called 9 out of 10 times.
@clark25012 жыл бұрын
@@bazookajoe6133 it’s in the rule. The ball has to be catchable for it to be PI on the defense. The one that doesn’t matter is defensive holding.
@bazookajoe61332 жыл бұрын
Eye of the beholder, I suppose. You have to let the receiver have a chance to catch the ball. It's an iffy call, but one that will be made more times than not.
@clark25012 жыл бұрын
@@bazookajoe6133 I mean you have to let him have a chance if it’s in play. If the ball is going out of bounds like it was here, there’s little to no chance he will make a play, impeded or not. But I’m not gonna argue it that much since I’m not a fan of either team.

No, it wasn't. Look at the replay, the official was preparing to throw the flag but misplaced it, so they pulled the other flag out instead. It was clearly PI on the defender. It was a good call.

It was overturned. Thats why they have IR. Referees aren't robots. The WR's heel clipped the out of bounds line. In real time, it looks like a catch.

@@bazookajoe6133 it did clip out of bounds, but not before the toe touches in bounds. It should have been a catch

It wasn't a catch. You need your whole foot inbounds. The difference between collegiate and pro is you only need one foot in bounds in collegiate football. NFL you need both feet. I'm a Syracuse fan and I knew it was getting overturned.

That PI call on the sideline throw by Shrader was uncatchable
@hartsickdisciple2 жыл бұрын
No it wasn't. The ball hit the ground less than a yard out of bounds. That WR is 6'5". He could've made a play on the ball if he wasn't being mugged.
@andydaniel2 Жыл бұрын
Definitely PI but I also question whether it was catchable. I agree with @hartsickdisciple that it wasn't that far out of bounds, but the at the first moment of contact with the defender that ball was just about sailing 3-4 feet over their heads, and even if not contacted I don't think he would have caught up to it.

A great game to be done in by penalties at the end. Players getting flagged, yeah that's dumb, but it happens. You CANNOT get a flag thrown on you if you're not even on the field (hello, ST coach). The HC needs to sit that man down for a game, to show the team that everyone is accountable. 15 extra yards would have been nice at the end.
