Amazing and not just the cars. Pininfarina was infamous for the designers within the corporate name of being "nameless" at times in their history. The fact they brought Dave Amantea in to talk about the design work he did -- I think it is just incredible. Glad to see it!!!

@@artlewellan2294 Gases spewed out by the exhaust are no longer useful. Batteries have another half life as energy storage before being recycled. Nearly all of the raw materials is recovered. Hybrids makes sense now in areas without a proper charging infrastructure, but it won't make sense for long. Energy density continues to increase while prices are coming down. And don't get me started on hydrogen. Most of the hydrogen would be produced the cheap, dirty way using natural gas if it was the fuel that took over. The hydrogen is also kept at immense pressure, corroding the tanks. To maintain pressure and temperature, there is also a wait time between fuelling at each pump. It is a lot less expensive to install charging stations. Much better getting electricity directly from renewable sources, and power grids worldwide are getting cleaner every year.

Around 1974, i was working as a mechanic at a gas station in Los Gatos. The owner had more than one gas station. The guy that was running another station in San Jose had just quit and I was put in his place. The guy who quit was working on one of our good customers 1966(?) Ferrari 500 Superfasts. The clutch had gone out and he replaced the clutch with one from Rover (apparently the same clutch). He had gotten the clutch installed but that was as far as he'd gotten. None of the linkage, etc, had been reassembled. I knew the customer and had put gas in the car several times. The car owner was apparently beside himself when he learned his car was sitting in a gas station still disassembled. Since I was familiar with the car owner, i was entrusted to put it back together. Great! Not! Well, I actually figured it out in short order. The car owner was often out of town and left instructions for the car to be driven while he was gone and to give it a tune-up and full service. Did you know there are a bazillion grease fittings on a Ferrari??? 😅 I was happy to drive the car a few miles everyday and would use it to go pick up my lunch from a local fast food joint. Los Gatos has a lot of monied customers. While returning from Jack in the Box one day, another customer I was friendly with pulled up beside me at a light in his dragster 68 Road Runner with a 440. So, of course, the light changes to green and we both nail it for about a 1/8th mile. I'm happy to report my tune-up seemed to have worked well as I had a good half car length on my friend. Ah, memories. I'm so glad no one ever found that out or the numerous other things that went on while the boss was away!

@@markl3893 Good point. I’ve often thought that he’s doing it on purpose to keep people behind him when he is filming. For just normal people, driving like he does could result really quite often and getting pulled over for a DWI check

As my father would have said she's a corker. I am curious what is the price what is the range and how long does it take to charge. Thanks Jay you always bring us the best stuff old and new.

They start at 2 million USD onwards based on how you spec it. If you want unpainted perfectly symmetrical exposed carbon it'll be another 250k more. If I remember correctly, they offer a track pack in the form of their _Anniversario_ model which has a bit more aero elements n a fixed wing. It's capable of doin 0-62mph in under 1.9 seconds n achieves a 222mph top speed. It supposedly can do upto 300 miles from one full charge under "normal" driving, so under real world conditions you can expect about 220-250 miles. If you purchase their fast charger setup, you supposedly can get it charged from zero to 80% in under 40mins or 20-80% in 25 mins. It's technically a Rimac Nevera that's been rebodied n dressed up by Pininfarina. The Nevera is one of the most capable road going EVs out there, so they definitely chose a great platform to build upon.

The Italian Designers are truly amazing. Compare that to the new Corvette already dated angles … GM could have had this Italian design and done even better than they have already! 😊

It looks like a pretty bouncy and uncomfortable ride. You can actually hear the induced vibrato in Jay's voice.

For such a "quiet electric car". Its interior NVH wind noise and electric whine....were atrocious!!!! Maybe it doesn't have a Custom setup and when Jay clicked it to "Furiosa" mode, it well, we all can see, road like a go-kart!!!!

Pininfarina made the Pantera though the 70s, nice cars with a 351 Ford in the back midengine, sleek and powerful, Jay has anepisode about one from 70 or 71 , sweet ride ! They also made a "mangusta" with a 289, very small and sporty , , ,

My halfpenny's worth.... The Barchetta with the complete roof section of the yellow car would look perfect for me - In one colour.. The prototype from the middle of the body up was extraordinary, spoiled by the wheels and frankly strange bottom half. If it was plain and simple it would be magnificent, the rest is mind blowing.. It reminds me of Lady Penelope's Rolls when looking down on the cabin and bonnet. No disrespect to the designer, there is some genius in there for sure. Edit: That was a great episode. The CEO was very, very nice. When Jay accelerated it looked soooo fast! Never seen anything like that before.

I hate the term 0 emissions. The car may be 0 emissions but not 0 net emissions.

I find it a bit ironic that Pininfarina car is basically re-skinned Rimac, full Croatian car. And electric at that! Italian only in the name. A 'heritage' car that carries such strong name should be properly Italian and not electric. Still absolutely amazing car out of this world, just doesn't feel like it's doing the justice to the legendary Pininfarina name, regardless how bonkers it is.
