Another outstanding video. Pure lead was what I wanted to see the results of. Pure lead imparts the most shock to a flesh and blood target. Very well done and informative.

Why do you change shotguns and powder loads at the same time? If you want to see true differences between different loads, only one variable should be changed at a time. I enjoy the information. How does hard cast penatrate vs soft lead?

could you do a video on how to read the shotshell reloading book (how to pick a load for the hull you have) because it is more confusing than a load book for brass ammo. no one has a video on it and it would be good for people getting into reloading shotshell. or you could do a series on reloding shotshells for beginners

When discussing lighter loads using less powder, have you had any experience with Hodgdon Clays? I made up some loads using Cheddite primed hulls, 18.7 gr Clays, TPS wad, and 9 #00 buck shot, Original buffer, with roll crimp. I used shot I cast and obtained some of the best defensive patterns I have had to date, outside of Federal Flitecontrol.

I had an anomaly with the spherical buffer in one load I had been working on it was a high velocity steel 3 inch goose load using federal hull 209a primer aliant steel powder, it happened several times about one in every 90- 100 pressure spike, torn/split hull, petals torn of mutimetal wads, sound and felt recoil change, and patern blowout I only had it happen with size TTT and larger. I have since switched to BP buffer in that load and have had no "anomolies" with it. I am curious about the cause now that you had mentioned it happening in some of your buckshot loads.
@BubbaRountreeOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
That's what happens to me! Same stuff. Round sounds weird and doesn't perform well. And many times it will rip the hull!
@ruizhou96123 жыл бұрын
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors Bubba, I use BP buffer only so no experience with Precision's. Do you think the buffer is experiencing a melt-clump then a spike from a semi heat melt? Then the pressure is enough to blow the possible heat clump out the barrel. That would tear the wad and blow out hulls and leave no trace as the clump is powderized again as it goes downrange. Just guessing here of course.

I was wondering if you’ve ever loaded any 000 Buck in a 20ga. And if so what were your results. And if not what is the largest Buckshot size you’ve ever loaded or could recommend?

Hard cast penetrate deeper, pure lead explains more ?
@BubbaRountreeOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
pure lead has better terminal performance. it expands better in a soft target than the hard cast.
